Frances had 3 sisters is a jewelry design company inspired by the glamorous Peal girls - my grandmother Frances and her three sisters: Betty, Molly and Selma. The Peals were a pillar of Cincinnati society, and each daughter led an exciting life full of passion, betrayal and love.
Betty, the eldest, was lovely and intelligent, and the most sensible of the girls. She owned a bridal shop in Erie, Pennsylvania, and spent long hours helping girls look beautiful for their wedding day, wishing for them happiness in their marriages.
Frances was the next eldest - a dreamy, romantic classical musician. Her first love affair ended tragically when her beau, on his way from Columbus, Ohio to propose, picked up a hitchhiker and was murdered. Frances later married Isadore Fleischman, my grandfather, and had a prosperous and happy marriage that lasted over forty years. After his death, she rekindled a love affair that had begun in Paris in the 1930's. She had written to her charming Frenchman throughout her whole marriage...
Selma was the next daughter. A ballerina - a gorgeous starlet of a girl, who was once mistaken for Elizabeth Taylor in a Beverly Hills cafe. She married Harris Rosedale - "The Arthur Miller of Cincinnati," a professional dancer with his own television show. They were married and divorced three times, but remained faithful to each other in their hearts the whole time.
Molly was the baby of the family - a bohemian - artistic and headstrong. At age 17, she ran away to New York to be with a man she barely knew, a man with a conservative nature and a short temper. Despite family objections, and the pleas of her three sisters who traveled to New York to rescue her, she married him. Unfortunately, the marriage was an unhappy one, and Molly poured her frustrations into her art.
