About FrancesPhotography

Sales 221
On Etsy since 2009

Passion for Light!

A friend of mine back in 2009 living and working in Brooklyn as a Jeweler told me about Etsy. She already had many sales and was established on Etsy and this was very encouraging. At the time, i had had a break from photography as I was raising my 2 year old boy but towards his third birthday I became eager to get back to my photography. Six Months later I was listing several pieces on Etsy and 2 months after that received my first sale in July 2009.

I wanted to write about how I started capturing light, a still of light if you will. I am just in love with light.

My fascination with light is the foundation for the creation of my abstract landscapes. Years ago when my heart was yearning to express itself I would sit for hours watching the light move and change as it hovered over nature and I was there to capture that. These studies of light inspired me to gain a deep appreciation of light, color and minute detail in nature and everything around me that is normally hidden with the naked eye. I then began experimenting looking through glass with my lens to create otherworldly and exciting pieces of art.
My work is unique because even though my art looks like abstract landscape paintings they are actually photographs. I paint with my camera as a painter would paint with his brush. I create different textures using my camera, light and glass. The method is not about the tools used, the method is about my relationship to what I am looking at. My pieces are like a breath. When the shutter is released this is the outward breath.

Shop policies

Last updated on April 29, 2022
I am thrilled to have found Etsy and I hope you are too! Your taking the time to familiarize yourself with my shop policies is appreciated.

I am passionate about color and photography and creating environments that are inspired by nature that we see around us everyday. Many of my images are very serene or dramatic created by the combination of colors, tones, textures and spacial qualities.

I print the pieces on a museum quality fine art fiber based paper that is very archival and acid-free and I print with archival pigmented inks. The print type is called Giclee and will last 200 years framed and 100 years unframed.

(if printed on canvas the canvas can be stretched on wooden bars and then ready to hang)

I LOVE doing custom orders which I am able to do on the museum quality fiber paper so please do contact me about this. I can make almost any size you need.

Smaller images are sent in cello bags and sandwiched between stiff carboard. These packages are sent via USPS with delivery confirmation. Larger pieces are sent in 6" wide tubes especially designed for artwork. They will be sent via UPS or Fedex in the States and via USPS service to clients abroad.

INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICE

I offer a full interior design service which includes:

Image collaboration and consultation
Full mock-ups of images in your desired room - up to 4 images.

The cost of the interior design service is $195 per room.

I look forward to helping you soon.

Anything other than an 8 x 10 is a considered a custom order because they are made to order. However, for an 8 x 10 piece I can do an exchange minus shipping costs. Images must be returned within 10 days of receipt of the image and you are responsible for the shipping of the new piece.

Custom Orders

Please remember that artwork is not a science and there can be slight color differences depending on your computer monitor.

I will work closely with you during the process. I can provide a sample of the requested order for the nominal charge of $75 per print. If you decide to purchase the custom-made work, you will receive 50% refund on the sample. Every step of the process will be reviewed and discussed. I urge you to request a sample in order to ensure your satisfaction.

If you are really not satisfied with your print, you may return it within 30 days. A full refund (less shipping costs) will be issued once the print is received in good condition.

Thank you!
Payment
I accept payments through paypal. It is a safe and easy process, and doesn't require you to sign up for an account. You can just use your credit card.
Shipping
For shipments in the US I will use USPS, and with a tracking number if I am sending more than one piece. For larger pieces I will send the pieces via UPS. Please contact me for international shipping so that we can find the best shipping option to your location.

All prints are made to order and shipped out within 5-7 business days from the date of sale unless a special request has been made. All pieces will be packed with a cello sleeve and will be shipped in a quality envelope with the image placed between 2 pieces of quality cardboard designed for this type of item or in a flat stiff mailer especially made for artwork. For larger pieces the image will be packaged in an 8 or 10 inch in diameter tube, especially designed for artwork. This is the simplest and safest way to send large pieces.
