Handmade, functional pottery

Learning to make good pots is an ongoing process. Every time I have made a successful piece, there is a moment when I feel that I've made it past the failure hurdle, that from NOW on, pieces will be at least this good, and probably better. Clay has a way of humbling you, though, and there is always a lesson right around the corner, a poorly executed rim, a botched glaze job, a dent or surface scratch that just can't be made to look intentional, or even whimsically crafty. This- and because seeing my work in the homes of friends and family makes me feel closer to them- is why I keep making pots.

Greetings and salutations!

Thank you for considering a purchase of Free Range Pottery. This shows distinction, taste, and artistic appreciation on your part.
Free Range Pottery is hand made by Adam Conway, the work of a single craftsman from raw clay to final product. Because of this, all pieces have a strong likelihood of displaying evidence of the process- fingerprints or other "imperfections" are commonplace in handmade work.
All work, unless clearly noted otherwise, is food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe*.
*Please use caution when heating ceramic dishes- rapid changes in heat are not ideal (freezer to oven is asking for trouble).

Additional policies and FAQs
Special orders and commissions are welcomed, with the following cautionary provisos:
FRP makes pottery for love of process and product, and the style is reflective of that. Please respect that love and do not ask for 5000 plates with flowery kittens unless you can clearly articulate a strong argument in favor of the project.
Also, due to the limitations of facilities and time, special orders take a minimum of 5 weeks to complete.
