5 out of 5 starsThank you for still making a product with your own hands. You have a great eye for color and each sleeve is different from the next. Thank you for working with me to create my sleeves and working with me during your time off.

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful and comfortable! I wanted something so my picc wasn't always the conversation starter and this did the trick. No one even asked about my picc but EVERYONE wanted to talk about my beautiful hand made knitted cover on my arm 😊 make sure to plan ahead because these are really hand made and delivery takes some time but they are beautiful.

5 out of 5 starsWent out of her way to make sure I got the picc covers before I had to leave for my surgery. They are absolutely beautiful and each one is a piece of art. I love that they are great conversation pieces.

5 out of 5 starsArtisan was great to work with. Communication was steady throughout the creation process. Item received fits well and is well made. I love the bright blue colour! These will be great for colder days when I still want to use my fingertips.

the world is my workshop!
What started as a personal project ended up and something uniquely more...
I've loved knitting from the moment my Gramma showed me how. My life got wrapped up in string...and I've loved every stitch.
It wasn't until I got my 4th PICC line in as many years that I decided it would be cool to make myself an 'arm sock'. I envisioned something to keep my tubing in place and look awesome at the same time. I was on a 'medical vacation' in California, and simply had to check out the local yarn store. I was itching to find the perfect yarn for my armbands; something with stretch, made of natural fibers, that was washable. A tall order for a ball of string, but I am a dreamer and know nothing is possible unless you start somewhere ;) !
A teeny, beautiful yarn shop, shelves piled with rainbows of yarn, specializing in 'warm-weather knitting' (i.e.: plant-based fibers!); I was in heaven! As soon as found the perfect yarn, a shaft of brilliant sunlight came through the open window, and a breeze ruffled my hair, and the yarn sparkled in my hand (okay...so this was all going on in my mind, but you know what I mean :P ). I just knew it would be perfect.
And it was.
I made my first 'IV Comfy Cover' after fiddling with gauge and stitches. It was a 'sea green' color, in a basic ribbing. I wore it to the doctor's office and showed all the nurses and other patients, who just loved it. I felt I was helping turn something as scary and icky as a intravenous catheter into something more positive and cheery.
I realized as soon as I showed more patients with IV's that I had to make more, so I could share the smiles. I loved Etsy, and I knew right away that this was the kind of community I wanted to be a part of. Everyone is so talented and friendly, and there is a wonderful sense of community, even though I've never met a single other shop owner!
My workspace is always wherever I am...I knit where I go in my wheelchair, which is fun; people always ask me questions about my 'play' (who could ever call this work!?).
I am the hands behind my small business, and my wonderful parents give me a hand with shipping. I live on the breathtaking Vancouver Island, and the sights and sounds of the seaside are my constant inspiration, and the subject of my photo-card work!
So I guess what I'm saying is being ill doesn't have to be all bad. You have to look around you to find times to smile and laugh. There are amazing opportunities waiting out there for all of us, and for me that was lessons to learn & something new to create: an IV Comfy Cover.
There is incredible about taking a humble ball of yarn, and two sticks and creating something beautiful. Knitting is a story, a story of beginning as one tuft of cotton in the field and growing up to be hat, gloves, or even an 'arm sock'.

I'm a tea-obsessed Island girl who loves knitting with autumn colors. If I could find a way to knit, read & drink tea at the same time that'd be stupendous. Harry Potter, Narnia and Ramona Quimby are my jam. I <3 2 am YouTube marathons. ^_^
Shop policies
I am a sick kid, who is trying her best to swallow all her supplements and medicines ever day in order to get better ASAP. Lyme disease is a wild ride, and sometimes, I might be out of 'creative commission' (ie: in bed!) unexpectedly. If this happens, will get cracking on your goodies as soon as wellness permits or I would be happy to refund those who wish me to.
Got a question? Just holler! I love hearing from you guys :).
Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
No returns. Each item is made to fit YOU.
I am sorry if things get lost in the mail; if you'd like to purchase insurance, feel free to contact me for an estimate.
Payment
If you need to cancel an order for any reason, contact me as soon as possible. I'll have to deal with each cancellation on a case-by-case basis, as one rule simply could not cover all the reasons going into canceling or not. :)
I'll post the monthly donations to CanLyme in my shop announcements.
Shipping
Once I receive your order, and confirm the details, I can give you a more accurate estimate on how long things will take to create. Usually I can put your package in the mail 2-3 days after receiving the order, or finishing a custom article.
Whenever possible, I try to use gently-used envelopes to ship the goods, in order to keep one more pesky envelope from being created. It would be awesome if you could reuse the envelopes and pass on your goodwill towards the Earth in the process :)! If any padding is needed, it will probably be created from our local newspaper (a bonus! you get to read about all the exciting going's on in small-town Canada!).
I will refund (through Paypal) any surcharged shipping over $1.00. In the unlikely event you were accidentally overcharged, and I failed to catch the error, please just send me a friendly reminder.
If you'd like expedited shipping or insurance to anywhere, I am happy to try and to inquire.
I'm hoping there will not be any additional fees, but buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
Additional policies and FAQs
All pieces are created by my two hands, so of course no two items are exactly identical. This is the beauty of handmade goods! Please allow for slight variances from what is shown in the custom order photos.
Each creation is made with LOVE, a wonderful AND free ingredient that makes articles sparkle :). LOVE is non-toxic, great for the environment, and cruelty-free.
