How I Became Friends with Picasso
Hi Friends! My name is Mara Helene and I am the face behind Friends with Picasso.
I have always been inspired by words. The power of a motivational quote can be invaluable, which is why I taught myself how to hand-letter. I wanted to be able to write these phrases down and add an artistic flare to them. Before I knew it, my sketchbook was filled with hand-lettered quotes and drawings to go with them. My boyfriend (now husband) found this sketchbook and tried to convince me to sell prints of my work. I thought he was CRAZY! Who would want to buy pages of my sketchbook?!
A few months went by and he had convinced me. Since then I have evolved my style from black and white drawings to simplistic drawings with a splash of color. I now offer custom drawings, house portraits, and pet portraits. My artistic floodgates opened and I found my love for painting again.
