Announcement    Welcome to 2021 Everyone! While this decade promises to be one of infinite possibilities and wonder-I can attribute my current work as an artist and designer to the past 10 years of really hard work; in exploration of new mediums, incorporating more metal into my designs, and using my inspiration from my travels to really begin to develop my own voice.
So in tribute to the last 20 years- all of the design styles of the last two decades will be featured here through the first half of 2020-some “throwback styles” and some with some new “stank” on it. So stop in, peruse, and get you some of this retro handmade goodness from Funky Finery’s Micro Collections while enjoying this journey in my “way back machine”.

Funky Finery and it's Many Incarnations

I am an elemental alchemist who designs therapeutic hand crafted jewelry and wearable art that is African Inspired and speaks to the Divine Feminine essence in every woman. I love working with and combining raw uncut and faceted crystals and gemstones, fiber, metals, leather, imported/vintage glass beads from all over the world, and organics: shells, seeds, pods, wood, etc.
I am inspired by Mother nature in all her gloriousness: her colors, shapes, and textures of foliage, animals, insects and the primal sounds of her abundant ecosystems from jungle to mountains from deserts to the sea. The tumultuous pounding of the ocean waves inspire my designs that pay homage to Yemaya and Olokun, the rich reds and golds found in Fall landscapes and desert terrain call forward the ritual adornment that speaks to the sensuality of the Yoruba goddess Oshun.
All of my designs reference and and are representative of of a multicultural goddess pantheon whose energies are imbued upon creation and evoked upon body activation. My process is one of sacrality, reverence and ritual where I call upon the crystalline consciousness together with the ancestors to guide my deft hand in the creation of unique and non traditional color palettes fostering the emergence of designs that are aesthetically unique, pleasing to the eye, while also healing the mind, body/heart, and spirit.
I invoke Orisha and ancestor to flow through me as I humbly interpret and channel the energetic matrix into a potent and viable tool for transformation and fun.

I live for the challenge of working with multiple mediums simultaneously for an eclectic mix of the Funky. Combining the raw organic shapes of crystals with the more refined faceted stones keep my designs uniquely fresh with a classic and/ or earthiness that anyone can rock. As a Crystal Energy practitioner, I love to share my knowledge of the healing properties of the stones so that the gemstone therapeutics become an extra bonus and buying incentive.

I welcome all online purchases in addition I love the design inspiration and challenge of a custom order. So if you are inspired by something you see in my shop but you would like to put your own stylized spin on it-don't hesitate to ask.

Custom orders do cost a little bit more-but definitely worth the satisfaction of the end result.

Another area of interest for me is designing one of a kind wedding and bridal party jewelry.

Lastly, I am also available for beading and jewelry making classes/parties AND private instruction.
