Wow! These earrings are gorgeous and Margie went above and beyond to add a "clip on" fastener to them just for me. The shipping was lightning fast! I am already proudly wearing my new earrings and am loving them. Ten Stars!!!! Thank you Margie for your wonderful customer service and craftsmanship :-)

California Girl goes Southwest!

Born and raised in Southern California, I am definitely a "Sun and Sand" girl. After college, I married and my husband "dragged" me to New Mexico for work. I've been here 18+ years now. New Mexico is now home. It's colors and culture inspire me every day: green mountains (golden in fall), winter white, blue lakes and skies, golden sunshine, clear skies, red mesas, colorful wild flowers, and warm desert sands. I also enjoy traveling and the cultures of distant (and not-so-distant) locals also inspire me. Of course, I will never forget the colors of California.

Mud: OK, not technically "mud," but rather, clay. I love its earthiness - its connection to nature and our roots. I love the feel of it: its slick, slippery smoothness on the wheel and its malleability in my hands. I love that i can take a misshapen lump of clay and form it into anything. I love that finished items can be decorative or useful; whimsical or functional! Or any combination there of! Seriously, can you tell I love clay?

Rocks: I love stones! They're like butterflies waiting to unfurl their wings and show their beauty to the world! I love agates for their translucency, geodes for the beautiful crystals that form inside, turquoise and jasper for their vibrant colors, lava stone for its lightweight porousness! I love rocks' connection to the earth. I love jewelry that sho s off these qualities!

Color: I've always been drawn to it. Jewelry is the perfect way for anyone to wear color, even if your wardrobe is mostly neutral. Color is great in the fall and winter when we tend to wear darker clothes and it's perfect in the spring and summer when nature emerges around us. Colorful necklaces and earrings especially draw others' attention to you and your face, which is what we all want.

Interest: Interesting lines and "simple" ornamentation draw me. I've never been an ornate kind of person. I love a sofa with a gorgeous curved back or a long table with elements of natural wood. You won't find intricate or elaborate wire wrappings here. You will find simple, interesting lines that enhance the beauty of the focal stone rather than draw attention away from the stone to the wire wrapping. This is intentional and by design.

Movement: Jewelry should be fun, and what's more fun than movement? I love a long necklace with a "bojangle" or earrings that sway naturally as I walk. Maybe something that "tinkles" or "jingles" slightly as I move. Fun!

I especially love making necklaces. I really like to make unique, one of a kind (OOAK) pieces that you won't see "just anywhere." I want each piece to be a creative work of art that you will be proud to wear and NEVER see another person wearing. I believe in using "natural" materials from metal to 100% wool/linen/hemp fibers, glass and stone. I also make my own clay beads which, like nature, are never perfectly symmetric, but are visually interesting, fun, and colorful!

I hope you love my designs, too.

I spent my youth creating art. Raising a family put it "on hold" but now I'm back to my roots. I like to create unique OOAK pieces & it thrills me to know you wear, ise and enjoy them!
