Using my hands to speak from my heart.

This all began when our first child was born. My wife and I decided it was in our best interest that I stayed home while she worked and supported us financially. I started making chalkboards as a way to help supplement our income. It was fun for a while, but the passion wasn't quite there. When we married, our priest gave us a crucifix as a wedding gift. It was and is to this day the most beautiful crucifix I have ever seen.

That crucifix drew me closer to God. It planted a seed inside of me- an idea. I've always been less-than-productive at verbally evangelizing my faith to others. What I am good at... is using my hands. I began making crosses and crucifixes in October of 2015 and haven't stopped since. I make them with the intention that they serve and draw one closer to God as ours did for me. I intend them to be heirlooms that can be passed down to the next generation in one's family. Have I found my vocation? I think I have.

One year, a priest came to me with a job. I was commissioned by him to make a wooden box for his rosary. He gave it to me to hold on to while I made the box, and this time it was his rosary that helped strengthen my faith. I had never seen or held such a strong, heavy rosary. Another inspiration, I began learning the art of wire wrapping to make heirloom rosaries with the intention of them drawing one closer to God.

In the beginning of my story, I only meant for my hands to supplement income for my small family of three. To be completely honest, I was doubtful and lacking confidence in myself that I could ever fully provide for us. But it has been years since the introduction to my calling, and I now have a family of six. I intend to use my hands for two reasons, often but not always in conjunction with one another: to provide for my family and to help strengthen or even spark the flames of one's faith in God.

Know that if you support me in my journey, you aren't supporting the holiest of men. I am a sinner. I fail in one way or another nearly every. single. day. With that said, I will never again cease to try and reflect my God and fulfill His will for me. He wants me to provide for my family. He wants me to spread His word. I hope you see Him through my work.

Blessings.

Frequently asked questions
Can you build bigger crosses/crucifixes than you have listed in your shop?

Yes! If you would like a custom size/style/color, please don't hesitate to message me so we can brainstorm together. I build all of my crosses starting from a rough sawn and kiln dried piece of lumber. Possibilities are nearly endless.

Do you have any different choices for a corpus on a crucifix?

Certainly- my corpus suppliers have a variety of different styles, sizes, and colors of corpora. Please never hesitate to reach out to me to try and find exactly what you desire.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. If you are a prospective customer, please don’t hesitate to reach out for a quote on what it would cost to ship something to you.

Where do you get your lumber?

All of the wood that I use (aside from custom pieces with exotic species) is hand picked by me from a local, mulitgenerational, and family owned sawmill here in Nebraska, United States. The trees they use have died or have been felled through natural disaster.
