About

Creativity and color entwined in metal

Hi! I'm Kym and I am the creator of Galaxia Metal. I come from a crafty/hands on family and have been making and creating my whole life. My mum and I would often spend pleasant winter days crafting and making. I also used to spend many weekends with my dad on the tools making things and helping out with his work as a handyman.

I have an eye for detail and I find landscapes right down to foliage and vegetation very beautiful. My passion for plants and love of creativity have led me to believe I could express the beauty of vegetation to a wide range of people through art.

I first started experimenting with colouring metal in late 2013. The Rose Gum collection were my first creations and the pieces are based on Eucalyptus grandis (Rose Gum) trees in my own backyard. I originally started making my prototypes by hand with a nibbler which took up to 16 hours per piece (stainless steel is a very hard metal). When I have a design I am happy with, I get them locally laser cut.

As my wall art developed I also created bracelets to compliment them. I feel like the bracelets are expressions of my crafty side and my love of colour and texture. The way that I make the bracelets with layer upon layer of detail makes every piece unique which keeps me passionate about creating. My textured bracelets are my favourite as they are so different and tactile.

I hope you like my creations! I can easily custom make items to match your dress/colour scheme as I make each item individually so please feel free to message me if you have any questions.

My ultimate goal is your satisfaction! I will do my best to make you happy with your purchase. I know that I wouldn't be able to do what I love without you and I will do whatever I can to work with you to sort out any issues.

We all change our mind from time to time and if you want to cancel an order, let me know immediately and I will understand. If you cancel your item before shipping, I will refund the cost of the item and postage, less $1.00 to cover the costs and time in cancelling the order, refunding transactions and relisting the items. If the item has already been shipped, on receipt you should return it unopened in the original packaging. When I receive the item I will refund the purchase price only, but the initial postage and return postage remains the responsibility of the purchaser.

Shipping
Items are all made-to-order unless specified otherwise. They will be made and shipped within 5-7 days of purchase. I ship on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Orders will be shipped to your Etsy address - please ensure it is up to date.

TRACKING IS NOT INCLUDED WITH YOUR ORDER. If you'd like to upgrade to shipping with tracking, please let me know. However, this is expensive, especially with international orders.

Items are shipped in either rigid mailer envelopes or cardboard boxes. Each item comes in organza bags suitable for gift giving (with the exception of wall art). Mailer envelopes are a flat-packing method that saves considerable shipping costs so I will use these whenever I can. Larger items and bracelets are placed in cardboard shipping boxes.

International Customers Please Note - I am shipping from Australia. Packages to the rest of the world may take up to 2-3 weeks to arrive.

If your package does not turn up within the expected timeframe, please contact me and I will do my best to rectify the situation! However, please be aware that I don't consider a parcel 'lost' in the post until it has been a full 30 days from the date of shipping, and I will not replace an item sooner than this.

I cannot accept responsibility for any customs issues or refusals. If you are concerned about your country's customs laws, please investigate before purchase. If a package comes back to me from customs in the original condition, I will of course refund your money. *We will not falsify customs paperwork, so please do not ask us to mark down the value of your parcel to avoid fees.*

All customs duties and taxes where applicable are the responsibility of the recipient. This mainly applies to European destinations.
