Stretchy, durable, cute, and comfy material. I love these shorts. I've bought 4 pairs already and will definitely buy more.

Love it !! Great to wear at night with a top..or....!! Cute under any top and will be perfect as the weather grows warmer. The The crotch gusset is why I bought these, a priority to be really comfortable with no seam to irritate.I want more styles made with the crotch gusset.I'm 80 years old now; still working and very physically active, could use this style every day.

About

From Brooklyn to Maine

I am all about body positivity and work hard to provide tuff, pretty, and durable fashion for all bodies! If you do not see your size represented, simply make a request. Ask and you shall receive.

Garbedge Designs uses repurposed and reclaimed materials to fashion new garments out of old. While the initial dream was to use only repurposed fabrics, I simply receive too many orders to stick to the original vision. Though the materials used to make some of the items in my shop may have been used before--the finished products are brand-new. Not only are Garbedge clothes eco-friendly, functional and fashionable, they also come with a story attached. The genealogical origins of each repurposed material accompany the garments you buy, telling the tales of their previous lives.

Whether I am rummaging through free bins for old bed sheets, or seem-ripping the cast off Carhartt pelts of my once-landlord, stripping fly-zippers from thread bare pants, or digging through roadside free-piles, I am always on the prowl for materials. This is Garbedge, where trash becomes treasure.

I am a 25 year old designer based out of Brooklyn New York, though I am temporarily living in Maine. Sewing and design currently occupy a huge amount of my time, but it isn't all that I'm about! I studied public policy in school, and hope to return to my job teaching legal resources and creative writing within the NYS prison system after I attend grad school. My Husqvarna VIKING sewing machine is both my lady-friend--yes, her personification is distinctly gendered--and my idol. My closet is full of fabric, point turners and chalk pens, piles of thread and bobbins, dress maker's paper, sharpies, bias tape, buttons, rivets, the DEEP THROAT, straight pins and machine feet, elastics, zippers and my walls are hung with patterns. My fantasies of a real sewing studio may someday come true, but for now my bedroom will continue to suffice, and my industrial sized spools of thread will continue to share the shelf with colored pencils, policy books, letter stamps and ink pads, unpaid student loan bills, and receipts. My bedroom is full of Garbedge and I love it.

Designing clothing is something I began as a youngster, draping and twisting yards of fabric over chairs in leu of a real dress form. Now I design and sew fashionable and functional clothing for all bodies using eco-friendly & repurposed materials.

Welcome to Garbedge Clothes!

Here you will find high quality handmade apparel with an emphasis on function as well as fashion. This means you can expect durability from you garments; you can expect pockets and reinforcements and the occasional rivet (where called for). All Items are appropriately surged and topstitched with care, and made from high quality, ethically sourced materials. Garbedge Clothes are designed, drafted, and sewn entirely by little old me--so bear with me. Your item(s) may take a while to arrive! Please see shipping policies for info about expediting your order.

DONATIONS, DONATIONS, DONATIONS!
I am always on the lookout for items to repurpose! This goes for clothing, old curtains, table clothes, backpacks, and other textiles. It doesn't matter if they are stained, worn out or run ragged, if they have some sort of beautiful aspect to them, I'd love to check them out! If you have old items that are destined for Goodwill, consider donating them to my brand. If I create something new out of a donated pieces, I will not only send you a photo of the newly minted item and offer to tag you in social media, but I will also--only with permission, that is--include a short bio of the garment's genealogical origins with it's purchase. Message me if you are interested!

Payment
Items will not ship until payment has been received.

If you wish to cancel your order, you must contact me BEFORE YOUR ORDER HAS SHIPPED. Please note that your order may ship before the listed shipping date provided by Etsy. If your order has not yet shipped, I will be happy to cancel and refund your order in full.

Please note that this does not apply to custom orders. Because it is likely that I will have either begun drafting a new pattern, and/or have purchased new materials, the cancellation of a custom order will be at my discretion.
Shipping
All items will ship USPS First Class mail, unless it is a larger item, in which case it will ship USPS Priority mail. You can expect a notification from Etsy (including a tracking number) once your order has shipped. All items in my shop have a 2-4 week shipping period, except for the Eminem Hoodie, which has a 4-6 week shipping period. If you would prefer that your item(s) ship UPS or FedEx for delivery reasons, I am certainly able to do so, though you may have to purchase additional shipping.

Need your item earlier than the expected shipping date? Have no fear!

EXPEDITION OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE! I offer both a $10 and a $20 expedition option. Please note that you must message me before purchasing either of the expedition listings, otherwise I can offer no guarantees that your request can be accommodated.
Refunds and Exchanges
It is extremely important to me that my buyers receive item(s) that are well-made and fit as desired. Buying clothing online can be tricky, and I am always happy to work with my customers to make sure they are happy with their purchases. Exchanges can sometimes take a while, but I am committed to working with each buyer until their garment(s) are satisfactory.

Did you order something that DID NOT FIT? No problem! I am happy to take the item(s) back and return them to you in a new size. Please be aware that I offer all items in HALF SIZES. Many items can be customized to fit you as well, at little to no charge, depending on the item. Simply message me with any questions or requests.

TO MAKE AN EXCHANGE:
Ship the item(s) you wish to return back to me. (Message me for the appropriate address). Include a note with your item that contains your name and shipping address, order number OR Etsy username, and your request, ie. "I ordered a size small, and would like the item to be one half size larger," or "These fit perfectly but the color was not what I expected, I'd like them in black instead."

ITEMS CAN BE RETURNED within 2 weeks of their arrival for a full refund if they are still in their original condition. Refunds will not be issued until I have received and inspected the returned item(s).

WHAT IF MY ITEM GETS LOST IN THE MAIL?
On rare occasions, I have had international packages disappear for extended periods, or, for domestic orders, have had a tracking number indicate that a package has been delivered, when the customer claims it has not. Once the order has shipped, it is out of my hands and I can't offer any guarantees. However, when this has happened in the past, I have taken full responsibility for locating the missing package, a process which can include speaking with individual mail carriers, or opening a case with USPS to report a missing delivery. If your package goes missing in the mail, I will do my very, very best to find it for you through every means the United States Postal Service has to offer. Now THAT'S service ;)

CUSTOM ORDERS and RECREATING ITEMS:
Please feel free to make custom order requests! I would love to make you exactly what you've always wanted.

I am also excited about using YOUR materials for a custom item! Do you have favorite old pair of jeans that have worn through? Send them to me! I can use the sacred material to make you something entirely new! Have an over-sized tee from an event you loved, but you don't really want to wear the giant shirt? Send it to me! I can make you a new pair of booty sorts or boxers from the part of the shirt you loved. Have a worn out garment or backpack that you'd like me to RECREATE!? Yes, please! Have another idea? I'm so open to it! Remember that Garbedge started out as a means for turning trash into treasure, and preserving and repurposing old textiles and garments.

FREE GIFT WRAPPING IS AVAILABLE! This can include an old school type-writer typed personal card or tag.

WHOLESALE ORDERS:
Many of the items in my shop are available wholesale. Please message me directly for more info. Line sheets are available by requests.
