We are making a few updates around here. Originally, we made and sold artisan soap as our main focus in the shop, but are limiting and transitioning our line to suit our changing lifestyle. Formerly stationed in Atlanta, Ga, we are now mobile! We're making and selling from the road (in our self converted van home), so making soap is not an option right now, and we're getting creative to deliver some new items that are more realistic to make in a tiny, traveling space. Your products could ship from anywhere in the U.S.! Fortunately, we were able to make face masks to help with the sudden demand this spring. There are still a few staple items available to shop currently. Stay tuned as we develop our new items!
Philosophy - Our products are made and designed with your health and the health of the environment in mind. That means a lot of time, care, and consideration goes into ordering supplies and creating our products. We only use high quality, organic, eco-friendly ingredients, materials, and packaging whenever possible.
Bees - Our products aren't completely vegan because we still choose to use bee by-products. This is because bees are so vital to our livelihood and well-being, but they are currently going extinct due to high levels of pesticides. We believe that using their honey and beeswax supports the beekeepers, like Honey Next Door, who work hard to support a healthy bee population. We believe that using bee products does more good than harm for the species and the environment.
Name - The name for our shop, "Garden Goat", is a marriage of different ideas. First, I love the alliteration of the 2 "G" words and how it sounds. Also, I wanted a name that represented the philosophy and idea of the shop, which is using ingredients found in a garden and staying close to nature. Lastly, I resonate with the goat and its many beautiful, underappreciated attributes. Goats are very clever and observant. They can imitate what they observe and problem solve. I love this stubborn animal and proudly represent our company with this symbol of innocent, natural beings.
Packaging/Shipping - We keep Mother Earth and future generations in mind in our packaging decisions. We are always working towards becoming more eco-friendly and less wasteful. We support an eco-friendly company, Eco-Enclose, for most of our shipping needs as well as reusing packaging when possible. Even their “plastic” packing tape is biodegradable! We ensure your product arrives safely with the environment in mind. Please recycle/reuse any packaging.
