2017 Spring Garden & Art Shows list - SCROLL DOWN

I'm running behind and listings will be severely limited prior to Mother's Day. If you're looking for something in particular send me a convo and I'll see if I can include that in my current show production.

My apologies for being behind on everything at this key time of year!! I'm still trying to catch up after 6 weeks of bronchitis/pneumonia, lost cat, etc.

--->>All items are brought to each show FIRST and those then left over are photographed and listed online. If you are local, come to a show for best prices and selection!

Depending on time available, I may have less items being listed online this year. The work involved requires so much more time (photo, edit, list, boxing, post office...), so the listings may be a bit sparse this season.

✿ Roster of 2017 FARMERS MARKETS and Weekly shows ✿ **

I TRY TO ROTATE through the following shows through season (normally May-October)
Check this page section regularly to see if I'll be at one of these below-listed markets! These shows may often be last-minute scheduling due to weather!

Milwaukie Farmers Market-Sundays
Tigard Area Farmers Market (TAFM), Sundays
Hillsboro Saturday Downtown and Orenco FM
Astoria Sunday Market
Lake Oswego Market (Note: artists are only given ONE Date per season at this market)

The above listed shows will PRIMARILY feature small pieces due to available booth space (and my back). At those shows, I usually bring 40+ small pieces to provide the best selection and about a dozen medium and large pieces!

HAVE A SPECIAL REQUEST? - If you have something in mind that you'd like created, DO let me know.

I do not use set color schemes but instead try to invent new color combos all the time. If you'd like a particular set of colors let me know as I may've even done it once before! Below is the link to my Pinterest page where I have 700+ leaves listed (though I've created well over 5,000 to date). Let me know what colors you'd like!

(PLS NOTE: West Coast buyers, convo/email me with zip code to order multiple pieces for best shipping. All rates are averaged for single items to mostly East coast destinations.) Shipping rates include USPS/Fedex charges as well as purchasing new boxes. Packing material is gathered throughout the year for recycling from local stores.

~Cast from LIVE leaves, hand-painted, numbered, stands on a pole & each is truly one-of-a-kind.

If you see a leaf you like, buy it. It is very difficult to create an identical leaf and sometimes just impossible. Every item is one of a kind!

☞ LOOK AT MY REVIEWS-Colors are even prettier in person & shipping fast!

~~~~~~~~
~ LOCAL DELIVERIES:
I do not have an actual "studio" to show pieces set up. I meet clients around town or deliver instead. I will refund shipping (back onto your credit card or, in cash) minus a delivery fee. Contact me for details.
~ LEAF AVAILABILITY
I work nearly a year in advance to carry sufficient stock. Some years may be more prolific and others not. Water Lilies have been very hard to grow for the last couple of years. Gunnera while they grow up to 5 feet wide are only cast in smaller pieces and the squirrels have been trying to dig those up so I'm not focusing on those (plus they are heavier due to large veins)...
~ CUSTOM AND RESERVED ORDERS
Custom and specialty items (3 foot and wider leaves or fountains) must be fit in between the regular production work so contact me early in the season for best leaf availability.
I sell all year round and ship all over the U.S.
If you have a favorite leaf, coloration, etc. please ask. I have lots of leaves and may have the leaf size you want. You tell me the colors and we'll get it listed.
Larger leaf listings are almost always picked out for custom order requests so if you want one for a special event such as a birthday, anniversary or housewarming gift - contact me so we can put aside your perfect leaf!
FEEDBACK / REVIEWS:
I consider feedback (or reviews) on each purchase to be VERY important. I take a lot of time creating these pieces, packing carefully and shipping them fast, please take the time to provide a review on your purchase.
For more information on how to leave an Etsy Review go to this link: https://www.etsy.com/help/article/102?ref=help_search_result. Reviews can only be left for 60 days after shipping, after that the ability to do so is closed.
ALTERNATE PAYMENT OPTIONS
Please convo me. I will gladly accept checks (given time for clearance and will mark your item RESERVED while your check is processing).
AVAILABLE "GIANT" PIECES
I have multiple extra-large, unpainted pieces (averaging 4 feet or wider) which are not brought to local shows (due to size/weight): gunnera, tetrapanax, japanese butterbur and others... Contact me if you are interested in these for water features, garden focal pieces or alters, etc.
PLEASE NOTE I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SELL, or not sell to, various persons. I have invested a lot of time and money isolating the products and processes to make my items and in some cases I may choose not to share with competing interests. In such cases, I will promptly cancel the transaction and refund your money.
All of my pieces are handmade by me and photos of them in part or full are my property. Any use of those images whether solo or in compilation images will be pursued for copyright violation (I've had several folks try using my images for their own "how-to" articles). Misuse will be pursued across any venues in which they are found.
A delight to work with! The owner patiently spoke with me on the phone about a custom color combination and tailored it to my needs. My husband absolutely loves it! Thank you!
Birthday present going out today... From my garden to your BFF's garden in sunny Florida!
I can always include a card (for free) so just tell me what your message should be.
My metallic finishes use several colors to change appearance (even as you walk around it). The birdbath water amplifies it, too.
It's like photographing a rainbow though. This is why my reviews always comment on the color intensity!
I aim to please!
This is an Acanthus leaf birdbath being cleaned.
The LIVE leaf is removed from the cement fossil so it can cure (or harden) for 30 days.
It is then hand painted into a birdbath that will stand on a pole over flowers and shrubs on the garden.
About
Unique birdbaths, feeders and sculptures that mimic the textures and colors of plants, flowers and butterflies using LIVE leaves.
Seven years ago I saw an unpainted leaf casting and was intrigued. A leaf cast involves capturing the intricate vein detail from a LIVE leaf into cement and creating a "fossil" or stone replica.
I learned everything I could and began experimenting. (Reading about cement is not exciting but suggested.) Within 4 months, I had cast 400 leaves ranging from 4 inches to 4 feet in size and using over 60 different types of leaves.
To satiate my craving for various leaf types, I met gardeners from all over town and traded gift cards for the fruits of their green thumbs. I stopped when the snow arrived a week before Thanksgiving.
Since then I have cast thousands of leaves. Unlike the first leaf I saw which was unpainted, I finish my pieces in variety of natural and iridescent looks. Each piece is entirely different in shape, size, curvature and colors.
In 2011, I started numbering each leaf to ensure I could send precisely the leaf you see in the listing images. This also enabled me to create custom, or complimentary, matching pieces on demand as every piece is photographed and cataloged.
A few years ago, I narrowed my focus to birdbaths, feeders and garden art including planters and pond drippers. The majority of my garden items are designed to stand above the flowers and shrubs so they can both add color and function to any garden. They are designed and sealed SPECIFICALLY to hold water or bird food.
My largest is a 6 foot wide Gunnera leaf (the plant is nicknamed "Dinosaur Food" since a single leaf grows to 9 or 10 feet wide). Jorge IV (as I call him) has been cast in white cement and is, in essence, my white elephant.
I do not teach classes but instead create many pieces so each person can find something perfect for their garden. I usually bring 40-55 pieces to every show which during the gardening season can be every Saturday and Sunday. To provide that variety involves packing, toting and displaying 400 pounds or so at every show.
My items are made from actual concrete (with special additives). This makes my product stronger versus using pricey plaster-based products which cast intricate detail but chip easily and do not work well with standing water.
All pieces are measured straight across the top from edge to edge (not into the bowl and up again - but the largest exterior dimensions to fit in a box). A piece that is 8x8" can easily be 5" deep so shipping is quoted to ensure safe delivery. Out of hundreds of pieces sold and shipped on Etsy, only 6 pieces have been broken!
If I can create something special for an anniversary, housewarming or other special event please let me know. I hope to inspire a love of nature everywhere.
For more ideas on finishes available please contact me so we can go over the many possibilities and I can direct you to pieces I've done in the past!
