About

Passion for color and form. Paintings full of mood, color and life.

About me
I am an artist who loves color and composition. As a child, my dream was to be an inventor. Now I invent a new original piece of art almost everyday! Many of my paintings are a result of discovery and experimentation. When I am not dreaming about color, I am busy preparing my canvases, reading up on painting techniques or packing and shipping my sold paintings. I am also proud mom of two kids who amaze me by their wonderful creations each day.

Biography
Garima is a contemporary painter. She was born in India and has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering. She worked in the Information Technology industry for 15 years. She has been drawing and painting since childhood. In 2012, she left her job after having her second child. During this break, she started painting once again and this started her love with brushes and color. Since then, she has exhibited in several shows and sold numerous paintings. She lives with her husband Sanjeev and two children Samyak and Saachi in the beautiful town of Andover, Massachusetts. She paints out of her home studio. Her paintings are mostly acrylic on canvas and her signature work consists of bright bold colors.

Artist statement
My work explores the multitude of color transitions found in nature. I am inspired by the effects in atmosphere, the winter moon, leaf patterns or a glowing sky. I like painting in an abstract manner because it allows me freedom of color and composition. I usually paint fast and work in layers. I strive to achieve a pleasing harmony using color as my main tool.
I am constantly learning and trying to bring spontaneity, freshness and clarity to my work.

All artwork is original, painted with love and passion.

I sign all the pieces on the front and back. Few abstract pieces are signed only at the back.

The main pictures are taken in bright sunlight. I try to take accurate photographs, in different settings, so you can get the best idea of how the painting will look in person. Due to different monitor settings, the colors in the pictures might be slightly off.
