The looks my designs are inspired by are feminine, flirty and unique. Since your bag will get noticed (wink!) I want you to feel beautiful when you carry your Gathered & Sown bag.

I carefully choose my fabrics and leather for their feel, wanting them to feel soft and luxurious when you touch them. I gravitate towards simple, solid colors that allow the pretty details like pleats and ruffles steal the show.

My current production time for most orders is 3 weeks...but as always, if you need something sooner, please feel free letting me know.

What started as a way for me to feel productive when my beautiful girls were little, has grown into a full time job now that they are in school. I am in my studio every morning, with fresh ideas, looking forward to holding my latest finished product. The energy I get from each email, comment and blog post makes my job even more enjoyable! So please, send me a note letting me know what you think....it will likely make my day ;)

Here are some things you might want to know about my shop:

-I design each of my products by myself
-Every one of the items I sell is handmade by me.
- When you order, I take that responsibility very seriously. I will make you a quality bag, the way you want it in a reasonable amount of time. I want you to love not only your bag, but your experience working with me. It is my number one priority....
- I don't smoke, and while I do have a dog, he is small, doesn't shed (he is called hypo-allergenic, which is why we got him, the hubs is allergic) He stays out of my studio, preferring to sleep the day away in the sunshine while I work.
-I check my email multiple times a day, promising to be prompt and trying to answer your questions/comments as quickly as possible.
-I will be very open with you about my projected shipping time. Let me know when you need it, I'll try my best to be accommodating.

gatheredandsown's Shop Policies

Payment

I accept paypal or Etsy Shop Payments. I require payment before I will ship any orders. If payment isn't confirmed 7 days after the order is complete, I will cancel the sale and relist the item.

A sale may be cancelled by the buyer up to 3 days after purchase. If the item has already shipped, it is the buyers responsibility to ship the item back. Once I receive the return, I will promptly issue a refund if the bag is in sell-able condition.

Shipping

Most items in my shop are made to order. I make the items in the order I receive the order and ship them promptly. My typical lead time is 2-3 weeks. When you place an order, I will respond with an estimate based on my current workload. If you have a deadline, let me know and I will work with you to accommodate your request if at all possible.

Items labeled ready to ship will be shipped within 2 business days via USPS.

Your item(s) will be shipped to the address on your etsy checkout. If you want your item shipped to a different address, you must make sure that you put it in the "ship to " address on your checkout information.
I will ship first class, unless otherwise specified by the buyer.
Insurance- I will add insurance to the package if requested by the buyer, at their expense.

Upgrades- If the buyer wishes to upgrade the shipping, I will gladly do so at the request of the buyer, at the buyers expense.

Refunds and Exchanges

It is my ultimate goal to make every customer a happy customer :) If you are dissatisfied in any way, please contact me so I can work with you to make your shopping experience a good one.

Because of the sized to fit nature of the bible covers, if you find yours doesn't fit, promptly ship it back to me, and I will be happy to re-size or replace it for you.

If an item is shipped to you damaged, I will pay to have you ship it back to me, and either repair or replace it as quickly as I can.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Custom Orders-
I love to work with my buyers to create their dream purse. But a few points to mention about custom orders...

1) They will take longer-
If the size, shape or even details deviate from my listed design at all, I will have to make a new pattern, which I am happy to do. But this takes time. Designing is a process, and I want to do it right. Behind the scenes, I may have to make the purse 2 or 3 times to get it right and have it ready to pass on to you.

2) There may be additional costs- If I have to add to the size of the bag, each small adjustment means more time, more leather, more thread, more interfacing, maybe even more hardware. I will be upfront with you about additional costs before you buy.

3) The bag has to match my brand...
Let me explain :)
I put a lot of thought and time into the products that I put my name on. When I do a custom order, people might see it and ask where it came from. If it has a completely different aesthetic than any of my current designs, I may be steering buyers who are looking for a product that isn't truly "Gathered and Sown" . Which brings me to....

4) I will not copy another artists design. This is a biggie....
I am happy to look at pictures to serve as inspiration, or to help me understand what size/look you are going for. But I know what another artist puts into their work, and I don't want to take that away from them.
I love it when a customer shows me a basic picture and asks me to show me what my artistic vision would be. It's a compliment to my work and I'm happy to have some inspiration.

5) I will make suggestions and be open if I don't think something will work or look right. But if through conversations, the buyer wants to proceed against my advice, I can not guarantee the end result. I try to be open and honest about how things work in bag construction, and we can work together to find a solution if we disagree. Communication is key ;)

6)There are no refunds on custom work.
Since I cannot resell custom pieces, I will not give any refunds on custom orders. If you aren't satisfied with the end result, you can ship the bag back to me and I will work with you to make adjustments until you are satisfied with your purchase. If nothing can be done to fix the bag, I will issue you a shop credit for the full amount of your purchase.
