GearForms uses reclaimed industrial and architectural materials to make unique, one of a kind sculptural furniture. Many of items you see here were once used as foundry patterns for large steel mills in the early part of the 1900’s.

Made from woods such as mahogany, poplar, oak, and sugar pine. Hand crafted by pattern makers from across the United States and south America. These forms were once used to make sand molds and then cast into iron and steel. End uses include printing presses, nautical vessels, machinery and public works like water/sewer systems, dams and bridges.

The objects we have collected have been carefully restored and reformed into functional works of industrial art. The finish on many of the pieces is the original paint, varnishes and lettering tags with the exception of a few small additions to add character and functionality to each piece.
