Announcement    GeoAttic is a treasure trove for people with a passion for geometrics, featuring himmeli style decorative accessories for your interiors, events or for you. Each design is lovingly handmade, with great attention to detail and using a choice of carefully chosen materials.

Based on an old Nordic craft, traditional himmeli designs are constructed by threading together natural straws to create beautiful hanging geometric shapes. Himmeli are customarily hung above dining tables in Finnish homes at Christmas to encourage a bumper crop for the coming year, but are sometimes just too pretty to take down and stay up all year round.

My contemporary version of himmeli designs include geometric clocks, mirrors, wreaths, stars, hearts, garlands, plant pot hangers, air plant holders, jewellery and decorative objects. I construct items using brass, copper and carbon fibre tubes threaded together with wire, sometimes using natural wooden beads to add extra texture and form. Some designs are available in kit form also if you would like to make your own and try this simple, and extremely satisfying, craft for yourself.

I am passionate about creating beautiful geometric decorations and accessories and would love to work with individuals to design and create bespoke items, please do get in touch if you have an enquiry.

Thank you for visiting my Etsy shop, for regular updates on new designs, workshops, markets and stockists, please follow me on Instagram @geo_attic (also Facebook @geoattic and Twitter @GeoAttic).

About GeoAttic

Sales 400
On Etsy since 2016

I'm an architect who loves to make and create.

I have two young children who are always full of beans, and when I get time to myself to relax I love to create, upcycle and craft. I have almost certainly inherited my creativeness from my very talented mum who has always filled our family home with gorgeous crafts, and from my Grandma who was an amazing knitter.

I am an architect and I definitely have a thing for geometric patterns and objects, and whilst searching for the perfect geometric decorations for my home I discovered himmeli. This beautiful Finnish craft has inspired me to get creative by blending my love for geometric forms and my passion for crafting...this is my version of knitting!

I have recently upgraded from making at my kitchen table to working from a workshop in a converted stable that I share with a friend, and I am so excited about what the extra space and shared creativity this could bring to GeoAttic.
