The mug Katie hand crafted is the perfect size and weight. It feels solid in your hand and yet has a delicate curved handle and outwardly curved lip. I have purchases many pieces from George Pottery and am always pleased by the shape and glaze colors of the pieces and the pretty packing they are thoughtfully wrapped up in...always prompt too! I recommend George Pottery to all my friends looking for a special gift or to add some personality to their kitchen ware!

Unique texture. I love this vase. Thanks for the quick shipping. I trucked this and others to my destination wedding for a earthy and gorgeous aesthetic. Many thanks!

Arrived very promptly--exactly as advertised in shape and color--I wouldn't call it 'large' but it's just lovely.

About

Every day items with character through alterations, texture and color.

After graduating college and moving to MN I launched my own ceramic studio and opened my Etsy shop in January of 2012. It is a one person run studio and I have all of my own throwing and firing equipment. My work space is quite small so I have had to be very efficient with my work stations. My husband has been extremely instrumental in this process and in the shows that I do. He has built many shelves, set up the venting system for my kiln and even bought me my first wheel as a wedding present!

My work process begins with a throwing plan. As a soon to be mother of three, I also have to be very efficient with my work time. I take lots of notes and draw lots of sketches of things that inspire me. I love architecture and mehndi designs, and you'll probably notice those influences in my work. Often times my throwing work is done in the evenings. During the day I'm able to my design work and alterations while hanging out with my almost four year old son and two year old daughter.

I was trained as a production potter so shifting into my own work has been fun and a challenge. I love experimenting and trying new projects. I'm looking forward to this new stage and all of the changes that it will bring!

Welcome to my shop! Everything is handmade by me whether I throw it on a wheel or hand-build it. My choice clay is an earthenware red because of it's ability to highlight earth tones in glazes and its plastic and smooth texture! I also use white stoneware and porcelain. I have been in ceramics for eight years and I strive to make pieces that will speak for themselves and bring some character to wherever they are.

Payment
I accept payment via PayPal or directly by credit card and require the payment prior to sending the package. All pieces that are posted on my shop are ready for shipment and typically I get the pots out the same day or the next so please convo me prior to attempting a cancelation. I also accept Etsy Gift Cards.
Shipping
I use USPS Priority Mail or FedEx to ship my work because I have found they are the most reliable. The shipping cost includes shipping, packaging and your tracking number. I will apply a multi-package shipping fee where possible. I will ship the package within 1 to 3 business days unless noted that it is made upon order. In that situation please allow two weeks until shipment is made to give time for processing.

I use new boxes to insure that no unnecessary stress has been put on the box prior to my use. I layer the bottom with shipping paper and packing peanuts. I wrap my pots in bubble wrap and again surround with peanuts to insure proper cushion. I take special care in packaging because I want you to be happy and excited when you open your box.
Refunds and Exchanges
I truly want you to be happy with your experience of shopping with me, so if in the event that you receive your pot and it is not what you were looking for I will send you a new pot at my expense upon receiving the returned pot intact at your expense. If you are not wanting a new pot I will issue a refund for the original payment after I receive the returned pot intact.

I take very special care in my packaging so that the pots arrive safely to you but in the event that your pot arrives broken please contact me within one week of arrival so we can fix this. I will require photographs of how the pot looked upon arrival and then photographs after you destroyed it. I will then send you a new pot at my expense or issue you a refund, whichever you prefer.
Additional policies and FAQs
I will be unable to do wholesale or custom options for the foreseeable future.
