Hey! I’m Jennifer Blanchard. I run this shop with my dad and we make everything in it. I’m multi-passionate, so I’m also a writer, a radio show host, a singer, a coach, a dog mom, and so much more. Being multi-passionate is the wave of the futureblue_heart
I’m a big proponent for reusing old things. That’s why our Gerry René charcuterie boards are made from reclaimed wood. When I make a board, I start out by looking at our pile of reclaimed wood and see what inspires me. Then I build from there. ⁣
As I like to say, the first rule of charcuterie is always start with a beautiful board. ⁣

Don’t get me wrong—you can use whatever board you have. But there’s just something about a really beautiful board that makes you feel good, that inspires you.

Building A Charcuterie Board For Personal Use Turns Into An Etsy Business

The year 2019 was a transitional year for both Jennifer Blanchard and her father, Gil Blanchard. She was going through a divorce and had just moved back home, he was gearing up to retire the following year and was looking for something creative to do with his time.

Both of them have always loved to build and refurbish stuff. Jennifer is obsessed with charcuterie and loves making snack boards. That summer, she asked Gil to help her build two large charcuterie boards from the reclaimed wood he had piled up in his garage.

Making those two boards together reignited their passion for building things, and they decided to turn that passion into a business. It felt like the right next step for both of them, and Gerry René was born.

The name Gerry René comes from Jennifer's late grandmother, Gerry, who loved to cook, eat and entertain at home, and Gil's late father, René, who was an immigrant and an entrepreneur.
