About

Making Strange...

I began cultivating my crafting skills at a very young age, taking various painting, drawing and ceramics classes to amuse myself. I was always making something...or breaking something to create something new.

In my teens I began designing jewelry and clothing. This was mostly for fun or to give as gifts to friends, but it was still something that gave me a great sense of accomplishment. People would often stop me and ask, "Where did you buy that?" and I would proudly respond, "I made it!"

During my first attempt at college, I majored in graphic design and took several studio courses where my fine art skills flourished. I always found my greatest muse in the darker side of art and composition. I continue to find imagery that is considered creepy or macabre to be beautiful and romantic somehow.

Ghostlove Jewelry was officially established in April of 2008. My vision for the company was to use my fine art skills and design aesthetic to create affordable wares for the modern Gothic wardrobe, infusing elements of Aristocratic Lolita, Steampunk, Couture Noir and Victoriana, all with artful taste and stunning presentation.

Many of my designs are heavily inspired by Victorian memento mori / mourning jewelry, world history, and the occult. Every piece you see in this shop is one of my unique designs and is lovingly assembled by my own two hands.

When I'm not busy crafting the next Ghostlove collection, you can find me buried in books on the evolution of human consciousness, philosophy of mind, the benefits of a resource-based economy, and psychedelics as medicine. I am currently pursuing a PhD in developmental cognitive neuroscience...so if you've got brain questions in addition to jewelry questions, fire away!

1. How fast do you ship?

I will typically get your order in the mail in 1-3 business days, unless you purchased a custom item. Items are shipped Monday through Friday.

*I do not process or ship orders on Saturdays, Sundays, or any US holidays.

If for some reason I will not be able to ship your item within 1-3 business days (as in the case of custom orders), you will be contacted via the e-mail with an estimated ship date.

2. What shipping method do you use?

US:

The shipping rates for the US are for USPS First Class Mail. This price includes a tracking number and delivery confirmation.

Canada / International:

The shipping rates listed for Canada and International orders are for USPS First Class Mail. This price includes a Customs Label # and proof of mailing.


3. When will I receive my item(s)?

That depends on where you live...

USA:
2-5 business days upon shipping
(During the peek holiday season, packages can take up to 5 business days.)

Canada:
7-10 business days upon shipping*
(During the peek holiday season, packages can take up to 14 business days.)

Everywhere Else:
10-14 business days upon shipping*
(During the peek holiday season, packages can take up to 20 business days.)

*On occasion, there may be additional delays out of my control with Customs that make it take longer.


4. Can I get my item faster?

Yes. I also offer expedited shipping if you need something in a BIG HURRY. Some examples of expedited shipping services I provide are listed below:

USPS Priority International: 7-10 business days

USPS EXPRESS MAIL: Overnight or 1 business day GUARANTEED
(During the peek holiday season, packages can take up to 2 business days.)

and

USPS EXPRESS International Mail, varies (please ask)

*Any of the above services can be applied for an additional charge, which is calculated BEFORE making a purchase. Please e-mail me if you need to request any of these services BEFORE carting any items or completing the transaction (just to be safe).


5. Do you combine shipping?

I DO combine shipping. All combined shipping rates are listed in the shipping section of each item.

6. Why am I being charged a VAT fee by my post office for International orders?

In most countries, the law requires that you pay taxes or "duties" on imported goods. These fees are specific to your country and I have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL over them. Sorry.

***Please do not ask me to change your customs label to say "gift" or "sample" to avoid paying these fees. That is fraud and I could lose my business license.****

Refunds and Exchanges

Nothing is ever 'FINAL SALE' if you are unhappy. I will work with you if something goes wrong with your purchase in any way.

I accept returns if:

1. The item is grossly misrepresented in the description or ARRIVES TO YOU damaged.

Upon the event of a damaged item, please e-mail me within 3 days of receipt for return authorization. A refund will be issued once the item is received back, unless you wish to have the item repaired. (There is no fee to repair an item that is received damaged.)

2. Your item breaks.

In the event that something breaks off your piece within 60 days of purchase, you may ship it back and I will have it repaired at no cost to you. This policy applies only to pieces purchased within 60 days from THIS etsy store only.

If you need something repaired after the 60 days, there is a small fee. This fee will vary depending on the materials and time needed to repair it. Please also keep in mind, depending on the nature of them, some components may not be repairable or replaceable. In the event that something breaks on your piece within 60 days and cannot be repaired OR replaced, I will issue you a refund.

3. You change your mind or just don't like the piece.

In the event that you change your mind once the piece arrives, you may ship it back for a refund MINUS shipping. I strongly encourage my customers to read all descriptions carefully before purchasing an item and e-mail me with any questions you might have.

4. Your item is lost in the mail.

If it is determined that your item was lost in the mail, I will gladly refund you the price of the item PLUS shipping, unless you wish to replace the item with another. I only ask that you give international orders at least 30 business days (no weekends or holidays) before expecting a refund, as they may be stuck in Customs.
