About

My fascination with blown glass artwork

Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated with glass. My Dad would take me to Antique Bottle Shows when I was a kid, and I was just amazed that someone could create something so beautiful, ornate and fragile. I officially began my study of glass in 2003 at Shasta Community College, then earned my BFA in glass from California State University, Chico.

After graduating, I moved to Cambria on California's beautiful central coast to work at Harmony Glass Works. In 2011, I was offered the opportunity to be a resident artist at Cirello Gallery in North Park, San Diego, CA. I worked in a small studio gallery for a couple years, then I opened a large hot glass shop near downtown San Diego. After a few years of blowing glass in the San Diego heat, I decided to move back to Northern California and the cooler temperatures. The foggy mornings and cool coastal temperatures create the perfect atmosphere to make my large sculptures. I spend the weekends roaming Northern California's Eureka coastline looking for inspiration in the tide pools, marshes and redwoods.
