About

Gilding Lillies? You misspelled it!

Maybe. But when you gild the lily, you make something that is already pretty great even better. On the other hand, the Urban Dictionary defines a "Lilly" as someone who is beautiful, fun, and loving. I just couldn't resist combining the two.

Beading - and beading your knitting - is all of these things. Knitting is pretty great. Beaded knitting is, well, even better. And beautiful. And fun.

So, I'm Melly, and I sell Toho, an especially regular and consistent Japanese seed bead that is a joy to knit with. Toho beads are designed to have a larger hole that allows for even more pass through for threads. The larger hole also creates lighter beads which give you more beads by weight, and which lightens the beaded load on your project. These beads are known worldwide for superior consistency and quality. Make Toho your bead of choice!

I also offer a Bead Charting Service (BCS). This gives you an opportunity to improve upon already great patterns you've purchased from Ravelry, by having beads professionally charted for the pattern. I've knitted with beads for years, and I'm sharing the experience and knack for bead placement with you. Just check in the Services section!

If you're having a hard time matching beads to your yarn, please convo me. I'd be happy to let you send me a sample of your yarn and I'll help you pick out beads.

Beading tutorials are available on my YouTube channel, at https://goo.gl/wpVjdu

Welcome to Gilding Lillies! I'm absolutely over-the-top about beaded knitting, and it shows!

As much as I enjoy providing beads to the experienced bead knitter, there is something special about introducing someone to knitting with beads for the first time. I maaaaay have just a tiny obsession, and spreading that obsession is just the bee's knees for me.

You already know what you're doing? Great! Have a look around, and I'm sure you can tell what's what. But if you're new to the addiction and you have questions, I always enjoy answering them. Convo me once, convo me a thousand times - I love to help!

Returns and exchanges
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please contact me before leaving feedback. I am unable to refund shipping unless I have made an error in filling your order, but I will accept reasonable returns within seven business days. Just convo me.

If you purchase the listing for a deposit on the Bead Charting Service for Knitting, then the deposit will be refunded when you purchase the final associated listing for the BCS. There are no refunds provided for digital products.
Payment
I accept payment via Paypal and Etsy Direct Checkout. Sales tax will be charged for items shipped to or purchased in Mississippi.
Shipping
Your order will come wrapped in tissue and packaged in a cello bag, beribboned and all decked out. It's like getting a gift for yourself in the mail!

I ship via USPS, both First Class and Priority. Shipping is charged based on weight and dimension of your package, plus a small handling fee to cover the cost of packaging materials only. I don't make a profit off shipping, and if I am able to ship for less than Etsy thought I could, then I'll refund you the difference.
