About

Ginger Knots and Knits!

Hello, my name is Courtney and I'm the Ginger behind Ginger Knots Crochet!

I've always had an outlet for my creativity. I danced and cheered in high school and college. As soon as I left college I started coaching. It filled my free time and gave me a sense of purpose. When that abruptly came to an end, I was left with all this free time and an overwhelming sense of loss. Winter was quickly approaching and I decided on a whim to go buy a crochet hook and some grey yarn. I was curious to see if I could crochet my own scarf. The short answer was no... I could not. That first scarf attempt, while being really bad, sparked a great love for crochet. It was the creative outlet I needed and gave me something I thought I wouldn't have again. So I signed up for a craft fair...

I started making everything I could think of. With a nervous, but excited attitude, I stood behind my booth hoping a few people would stop by. They opened the doors and a hoard of people swarmed every booth. It was Black Friday. Whoops!

As things calmed down throughout the weekend, I realized I didn't have even close to enough to sell. I sat behind my one little table making boot cuffs as fast as I could with a big dopey grin on my face. It was fun. It was hectic. It was exactly what I needed.

That intense learning experience pushed me to expand on my abilities as well as create my first patterns and open my Etsy Shop!

I hope you enjoy my work even half as much as I love making it. It truly fills my heart to do this.
