Welcome to Glassprimitif, home of unique, contemporary and quality fused glass.

Glass is a material that we take for granted in the modern world because of mass production. But Glassprimitif glass is all handmade and each piece is individual. When you buy Glassprimitif you are buying a craftsperson-designed product, made using traditional skills of scoring, shaping and kiln fusing.
I work from my attic studio West Yorkshire, UK with fabulous views of the green hills that are the South Pennines. I accept custom orders - prefer a different color or design in glass? Please contact me with your requirements.
What's my inspiration? It changes every season but this season's glass is inspired by kaleidoscopes and Scandinavian -style glass birds. For me, color is the key.
I accept Paypal only. I am in the UK and will post all over the world. I always obtain proof of posting to help you track your purchase. Details of payment is listed with each item.
Problem with your order? Questions or comments? Contact me.
Check out my blog http://www.glassprimitif.blogspot.com I LOVE RED.

About

Unique, contemporary and quality fused glass for your home

Glass is a fascinating medium to work with. It is both tactile and fragile - it can be soft yet brittle and should be treated with respect. All my glass is kiln formed - this means that I cut, grind, clean and then fuse the glass in a kiln to produce items such as jewellery, glass fishes and dishes.

My inspiration for my glass changes often and I all my glass is design-led. I am interested in patchwork quilts, folk art and hearts and am currently working on a range of kaleidoscope glass dishes. I love colour, particularly colours that are brash and bright like the colours found in artificial textile and food dyes. You can almost see the additives and chemical dyes in my work!

I mainly use Bullseye glass which has the best colour range in both opal and transparent glass and I also like to fuse "float" glass which is the scrap glass left over from picture framing. It has a lower fusing rate which makes it ideal for adding inclusions such as washers and razor blades. I expect my glass items to endure and keep their quality.
