Welcome to my little world of hand built pottery and ceramic accessories! My passion for creating has grown to an eclectic mix of color, texture, and a bit of "Glitz". Like the twinkle of a eye, glitz is the little bit of sparkle breathing life into creation.

The reinvention possibilities with clay are just endless. I strive to make everyday functional pottery items with useful purpose and unique design. Striving for vivid color and surface texture as part of the design, I sometimes use swarovski crystals as finishing touches. I am always experimenting with new glaze combinations and finishing techniques.

The GlitzNGlaze Shop an ever growing collection of unique contemporary, funky, and affordable buttons and pendants, along with functional and practical ware and gift mementos. All items are handcrafted individually, with great attention to detail. This process may include hand built slab work, freehand painting, texturizing with handbuilt stamps, sliptrailing, and sgraffito. All items are completely crafted by me, from start to finish. I use only non-toxic tested glazes and underglazes, so you can rest assured functional ware is food safe. My paint designs are created with underglazes, not acrylic or oil paints.

Extra time is spent on each piece to ensure it is fully finished. Whenever possible, my work is footed or completely glazed on the underside. These additional steps require stilting in the kiln, run the risk of extra warping, and require sanding of glaze drips after the fire. It is a well worth the extra effort for a quality glassy finish. Underglaze retouches are made after a bisque firing to insure vivid, uniform color. Clear glaze is applied to all hand painted and sgraffito work and refired to temperatures up to 2300 degrees.
