Torching in my studio in Maine.

Fork and knife cuff on reclaimed leather.
Earthy, warm and rustic. Everyday jewelry that soothes the soul.
I am a native of the coast of Maine. With the inspiration of my mother and grandmother, who were both painters of fine art, it was no surprise that I gravitated toward a life in the arts. I painted at first, though not on canvas like my mother and grandmother. I painted furniture and murals, both commercial and residential, and later added floorcloths into the mix.
As time passed, my quest to create continued. This quest led me to MECA in Portland, ME, to take a jewelry & metalsmithing class. I wanted to find ways to use the sea glass and beach stone I had been collecting since I was a young girl. I had no idea this would change my life forever. It was here, in the 3 hours of my first class, that I found my passion..... a crazy love for metals. I find their versatility, the tones, textures and patinas you can create, incredibly intriguing. No piece is completely planned out. Sometimes I let the metal or salvaged find speak to me and let the piece develop as I work. Now, years later, I am embracing this passion full time in my home studio. Most days, that is where you will find me....at my bench, surrounded by a torch and tools, hammering out new designs and mixing metals with reclaimed leather, torch fired enamels and found objects. It soothes my soul.
Today, I live on the seacoast with my family, never having wandered far from the rocky shores of Maine.

Care instructions
I use a high quality wax to preserve the patina on oxidized jewelry. This is not a sealer & will wear off over time. To preserve the patina, I recommend removing the jewelry before bathing. Do not get it wet, or expose to soaps, creams or antibacterial gel. A polishing cloth for jewelry may be used. Do NOT use any liquid jewelry cleaners on the jewelry.
Copper & Brass: Base Metal Jewelry.
Copper is a healing metal & has shown positive effects on the body. It may or may not turn your skin green. It depends on ones body chemistry. It generally happens to someone with a high acidic pH. This is due to diet. The green is not harmful & washes off. I believe the benefits of copper outweigh the greening. Though copper may not be for you.
