About

Gnarwhal Crochet: real Dutch handiwork.

I started crocheting when I was about 15 years old, just to try out something new. Back then, it was just a little hobby that I never put too much work in. Throughout my school years I only ever crocheted if I wasn't too busy reading, or doing homework.

However, in 2016 I had to quit school due to medical reasons, and all of a sudden I had a load of free time and room to really start working on my crochet skills. Six months later, when I went back to school, I was crocheting whenever I could: lunch breaks, public transit, even during my classes.

I quickly fell in love with Amigurumi: a Japanese crochet style where you make stuffed animals with a specific technique. Once I graduated, I decided to take a year off to work and crochet.

In April 2018 I posted some of my works on Imgur, a social media/image hosting website, and people quickly demanded to see more. I owe my store and pretty much all of my sales to those wonderful people!

And that brings us to today. I hope you like what you find here.

Frequently asked questions
Do you take custom orders?

Yes! If you'd like to request a custom order, you can do so with the button on my Etsy, or by messaging me either here or on my Facebook page!

Please do keep in mind that custom orders take longer to arrive to you, as I have to make them first.

What's that about gifts?

With each and every order I add some gifts. I do this because I love surprising people! The size and quantity of the gifts varies depending on the size and quantity of your orders.

What is included in the shipping cost? And what should I know about the packaging?

I reuse most of my packaging. If a box is in good condition, is clean and scent-free, I will use it for shipping. This helps the environment and also saves money: the packaging costs will be lowered accordingly. The shipping fees are what you pay, along with the 5% fee that Etsy started taking.

Combined shipping:

I ship based on weight, however Etsy does not have an option for this. Please be assured that if your order meets the conditions for combined shipping (ex: a big and a small stuffed animal that are less than 2kg and fit in one box), I will refund you the shipping overcharge once the package has been sent!
