Additional policies and FAQs
Taking care of hemp jewelry is very simple. A new piece of hemp jewelry may be stiff at first, but like a new pair of jeans, it will become softer & more comfortable with age. The hemp twine used in Going Coastal jewelry is environmentally friendly and organically waxed.

Some people believe that you can shower, exercise and swim in hemp jewelry. You may if you like, especially if you realize that hemp is an organic material that will degrade over time. This process is accelerated when hemp jewelry is exposed to water. So basically, if you buy a piece for beach or comfort wear, expect to only get a few summers out of it before it starts to disintegrate. If you want your hemp jewelry to keep that "new" look and last as long as possible, always refrain from getting it wet.

If for some reason you need to clean your hemp jewelry, I would suggest the following: Always use a tiny amount of quality liquid soap in a sink full of warm water. Carefully wash or just soak the necklace, rinse & then lay flat on a hand towel until dry.
