Announcement   Hi, I am Jane Good. Thanks for looking! I am all about texture. When I was a landscape watercolor painter, I used my paint to create the illusion of texture. Now that I am again working in 3 dimensions, my love of texture has been set free. I am continually expanding what I make, from sculpture to tiles, I use their surface to create a feeling or mood.
Thank you for visiting my ETSY shop.

About

Starting in kindergarten where I painted a white snowman on white paper I have always been creating art.

I started my etsy shop to share my art with the world. Currently there are people as far away as England and Australia who are enjoying my work. It makes me happy.

I am, Jane McGee Good. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but spent most of my life in Southern California. I have been interested in all forms of art from an early age, though only recently have I been able to devote time to my life long love. I received my degree in Fine Arts from Idaho State University in 1976, three months before giving birth to my first child. I have been busy raising my three beautiful children. They have grow up and moved on and I am back making art.

Now I am the Grandmother of five, two is San Diego and three far away in North Carolina. Between flights to NC, I still finds time to teach pottery and make my own creations out of clay.

I have always enjoyed the texture of things: lace, dirt, clay, clouds, leaves... I try to recreate these textures in my pottery and sculpture. When I work, I find through the clay a way to relax and create a piece of beauty for myself and others.

Welcome to Good Clay Works.
My name is Jane Good and I hand build almost everything in my shop.
The subtitle "where texture and color come to play" can be explained by my love of lace, especially doilies. I use white stoneware clay, a variety of lace and other things for texture, and add many new glazes, I get to play with color and texture. I hope you enjoy seeing (and buying) the treasures I create.
