Handspun yarns supporting our history

Long before Goodstitch Fibers opened in the Fall of 2015, this venture had its roots in the American textile scene, a desire to be more sustainable in how we live and craft, and an effort to connect with the community that surrounds us. After so much widespread knowledge surrounding the origins of much of my beloved yarn, shipped thousands of miles between foreign countries, supporting not the farmers and shepherds who tend the flocks, but the corporations and countries that produce them, I knew there had to be a better way.

Inspired by the beautiful, life-like qualities of handspun yarn and its many perfect imperfections, Goodstitch Fibers was born, showcasing the beautiful natural colors of the animals from which the fibers came, and the colors of nature. All of the yarns sold through Goodstitch are grown and processed in America, and spun and dyed in my studio in Chapel Hill, NC. I hope that the materials you find here inspire you in all of your creative pursuits and help you to connect with the fiber community in this country where we live.
