__International Custom Fees__
Custom fees, duties, taxes, or other charges from the purchaser's government are paid by the customer..
Shipping
__Shipping Terms__
Our shop policy is that items are shipped FCA - Postal Service in Sweden, Incoterms® 2010.

__Shipping Insurance__
We value our customers. We protect their investment and shopping experience with us by insuring the more valuable items. The listing will say if that item is insured with the post office and has a tracking number.

Sweden doesn't have an insurance like America. It similar to registered mail and costs between 70 to 100 SEK, depending on the size and value of the package. The REK service includes insurance, a tracking number, and is given priority in the queue. It is not rush delivery, but it does more along faster.

If your item does not have insurance and you would like it, please contact me for a price quote.

We greatly appreciate hearing from you that our shipments have arrived safe and sound. Thank you.

__Costs for Shipping and Handling__
We have a weight scale and can calculate the postage accurately when we write the listing. However, if we are repacking items together, we will refund the difference promptly. We process the refund as we send the shipping notification to you on Etsy. However, sometimes the additional weight puts the shipment into a higher price range. The steps in grams are:
-100
-250
-500
-1000
-2000

Beyond 2000 grams a package cannot qualify for the lower 'letter' rates and becomes a 'parcel' at a per kilogram rate.

Special arrangements have to be made for oversized items not handled by the Swedish Postal Service. If an item is too large to be shipped by the Postal Service, we will so describe the item in the listing.

__Safe Delivery__
Please make arrangements with your postal carrier for safe delivery of your package to a neighbor if you will not be home. Thank you.

__Timeliness__
Due to space constraints at home and open hours limitations at the post office, we tend to pack on the weekend and ship on Monday. If faster delivery is important to you, please convo us for shipping quote.

Swedish priority mail is equivalent to first class in the U.S.A. and will travel quickly via air. Expect shipments from Sweden to take 2 to 3 weeks to reach North America or other parts of the world. The Swedish Post Office does not offer expedited delivery outside of Sweden. See also REK service under shipping insurance above.

It seems I must have thought of everything to say there is to say! If I have left something out, please contact me for a better explanation of our shop policies and practices.
Refunds and Exchanges
Many sales are considered final. Vintage items are sold in an as is condition. We attempt to accurately photograph and describe flaws, but we may have missed some. If you have questions, please convo before buying.

Shipping to and from Sweden is an expensive journey, therefore it is not realistic to accept returns on items under $30.00. We also do not accept returns of small items or ribbon that has been cut for you, or items where the buyer has altered it in some way. In the case of items in this price range, we can discuss store credit.

If for any reason you are unhappy with a purchase outside those restrictions, please notify me by email within 14 days of your receipt of the item. I'm sure we can find a happy solution for you. Refunds will not be issued until the item is returned in good condition.

PLEASE NOTE: the following standard practice on Etsy, the cost of shipping the item back to the Gothenburg Collection will not be refunded.

It is best to ship returns registered or insured so that you can retain proof of shipping that includes the date and our return address. You may be required to provide this information in case the parcel goes missing or is delayed. Volcanoes erupting on Iceland have been known to ground planes. In 2010 we were all practicing how to say Eyjafjallajökull. Thank heavens it stopped!

If a return is coming from the United States, we reserve the right to have the parcel shipped to one of the scholarship database associates there.

We want you to be happy with the items you purchase, so we accurately describe and photograph, plus, will work hard to correct any problem with the order.
Additional policies and FAQs
__Answers are Available__
I am happy to answer questions if you’d like to convo me. If there is some Swedish text you would like translated, it is easy to type it into translate.google.com. Google does a quite good job, but I did have to get my husband to explain about the hedgehogs’ ability to fall 5 meters without hurting themselves because they stick out their spiny coat to absorb the shock. The spiny-action confused it. Some phrases are idiomatic.

__Customers are Valuable__
We want you to be happy with your purchase therefore we select vintage items and craft supplies looking for the wonderful and the unique. There may be marks, stains or wear in the condition of vintage items, which I am at pains to describe in the listing because I want you to know what you are purchasing. Vintage items are sold in as is condition.

Please unpack and inspect your purchase soon after receiving it. If you have any concerns, please let us know within 14 days.

__Customer Reward Program__
After someone spends $100 on merchandise (not shipping) in the shop, I send a 10% off coupon.

This coupons do not expire and can be used over and over again.

The discount does not apply to shipping.

__Special Item Search__
We are delighted to look for special things for you! It is very fun for us to search for something you'd like for your home. If we enter into a discussion of an item search, please be assured we will not purchase anything without your approval and agreement on the price and shipping cost. If we can't find just what you want - no pressure on you to accept something else. As a friend of mine once said who bought houses to rehab, 'If the deal has to be good for everyone.' We want you to have an enjoyable experience starting with the hunt and ending with safe receipt of the item. That way we can all look back and be happy.

__Cleaning and Polishing__
If the item is a vintage copper piece I clean and polish them if they are something that would go on your table or store food, such as a cannister. If they are not intended for use with food, but are a display item, I do not remove the lovely patina of age.

Vintage items have lived a life. Pewter especially is subject to dents as it is so soft. We try not to change the item, but sometimes we have to make repairs or replace screws.

__Origin__
It is so exciting to find wonderful handmade items for the Gothenburg Collection. We love to honor the talent that went into creating individual works. However, it is rare to be able to identify the fiber artist or date on handwovens or needlework. Since television stations didn't really get underway until the mid-50's anything that took hours and hours to make probably falls well into the antique/vintage period. Very occasionally a professional weaver will have attached a label or an embroiderer sewn in their name. We always retain the label and indicate the artist if we can.

It is possible to request that we look for a special item for a customer, such as a copper sugar box. We love any excuse to go roaming over the countryside, but to have a mission makes it that much more fun!
