About

Unique jewellery inspired by Cornwall to inspire and empower you. "Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire"

Ever since I can remember I have been a collector.
My parents told me that when I was three, I used to pick up pebbles from the beach.
Stones, gems and rocks always hold a special meaning for me and I'm naturally drawn to them. Throughout my life I’ve always had a keen interest in how things are made, so jewellery, gemstones and found objects have always been a passion (obsession) of mine. I remember at school I used to make beaded jewellery for family and friends.
At one time I thought I wanted to do fashion, as I enjoyed customising clothes and making things from fabric. So I spent a few years at college and even got a distinction in ‘textiles art foundation’, but I was always slinking down to the metal workshops to play with the metals.
Looking back now, jewellery was always my path. I just hadn’t worked it out yet. The moment when it all clicked for me, was that I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I realised that whenever a friend needed help with a confidence issue, or a break up, or I wanted to make them smile, I would make them jewellery or give them a gemstone which matched their needs. So I realised that it wasn’t just about enjoying making jewellery, it was actually about empowering people and making them feel good, which I enjoy even more. How people react when they receive one of my pieces is what is inspiring me to make more.

My partner surfs, that’s his 'obsession’, sorry ‘passion' and it’s one of the reasons we decided to settle in Cornwall, (England). We’re both from Devon (England) originally and spent a few years travelling and living in New Zealand. Cornwall’s beaches are among the best in the world, they also have great waves for
surfing. This suits us perfectly because when there are waves, Jimi goes surfing and I’m scouring the beach for treasures.
I only use the best seaglass I can find, with no chips or jagged edges, although smooth pieces are harder to find.
I love how seaglass is transformed from a man-made object, back to the wonderful freeform nature of a pebble, by years of rolling in the crashing waves. (It only take 100 years or so for it to turn the broken glass into a good piece of seaglass!). The main way you can tell a natural piece of seaglass from a machine frosted one is to check the surface for natural imperfections and variations in the surface of the glass.
My favourite colours of seaglass are the greens, seafoam whites and rare blues. I spend ages selecting only the best for my jewellery pieces. I grade them by size, shape and colour. I also look out for super rare colours like red, dark cobalt blue, cornflower blue, and pairs, which I save for earrings. Although, there are never exact pairs as each piece is as unique as a fingerprint. When I create seaglass pendants I set the seaglass in the silver in a unique way, so the light shines through, just like it does when you find it on the beach.

I love living in Cornwall and enjoy coastal walks to gather inspiration. The textures of the rough rocks and crashing waves.
Cornwall has so much heritage and old fishing villages (some of them are still working now). I love walking the harbours looking at the boats and how they are constructed; love a bit of rusty metal. The mass of ropes, nets and lobster pots. The old cobble stoned walls, twisted seaweed and weathered driftwood.
There’s just so much to feed the imagination here, it’s amazing. I like to take photos of textures, colours and forms. I put the best ones on the inspo wall in my workshop, or sometimes I just dive straight into designing. I also find inspiration comes by looking through my gemstone collection and seaglass. Or sometimes it comes when I’m trying to get to sleep!

When I’m designing I always ask myself “would I wear this?” and if the answer is yes, I go for it, if not, I know it needs tweaking. It’s a good way of making sure it’s from the heart.

When I was thinking about what I wanted my jewellery to represent I realised that the name needed to encompass the values of the people who wear my pieces and reflect my style too. Something which inspires and empowers people, that they can identify with. Fierce yet feminine. Wild and rustic, yet sentimental and classic.
I did some soul searching and remembered my Great Grandmother’s name “Grace Baskerville”. It reminded me of the famous story of “the Hound of the Baskervilles”, based on Dartmoor in Devon, where my family originates. I liked how it was wild and mysterious. This helped me design the logo, with the help of my partner (who is a graphic designer). We sketched out a hound to represent the fierce wild Baskerville legend and combined it with wings to represent the female, feminine Grace element.
Grace Baskerville jewellery is made from the heart to help empower you, inspire you to follow your dreams, to remind you that you are strong and good things can come into your life.

Thank you for reading my story. I look forward to hearing yours

Thanks for looking! I love creating unique pieces for people to treasure. My partner is a surfer, so I love beachcombing for seaglass, only 1% is good enough for my jewellery though! The name Grace Baskerville, was originally my Great Grandmother's.

Item descriptions and photographs are as accurate as possible, however if you are not pleased after receiving your item, please make contact via email within seven days of receipt, and we can find a solution.

1. You may return for a full refund any ready-to-ship item for any reason within 7 days of receipt. The item being returned must be undamaged, unworn and in it’s original packaging. Please ensure correct postage is applied and proof of postage is obtained. Earrings are not returnable for hygiene reasons. [If your item is a bespoke order, please read below]

2. Bespoke orders are non-returnable, but may be exchanged within 7 days of receipt for another item of equal value. [a bespoke order is an item you have requested which isn’t currently ‘in-stock’. For example, this could include a ring being made in your size, a different bracelet length or especially sourced stone etc.]

3. Items are sent via Royal mail special delivery or international tracked & signed. For items arriving by Royal Mail their website states that recipients must wait 15 working days for items to arrive [or 10 working days for Special Delivery]. In situations where 15 days is an unsuitable time to wait, a new order can be processed and despatched [the item will be charged at the normal rate with the usual postage charge]. If after the 15 working days royal mail does deliver the original order a refund for the cost of the item will be processed once the item has been redirected back to the sender address. I always include a tacking reference number with your despatch confirmation so you can use this number to track the status of your item.

4. Each item is handcrafted to the highest standard and of course, whilst jewellery can last you a lifetime, it is not indestructible and should be treated with the same love and care you would bestow on a silk dress or elegant pair of designer shoes. If your jewellery ever becomes damaged as a result of faulty workmanship within the first 3 months* after purchase, I will repair it free of charge (less postage costs). After 3 months items can still be posted for repair and a small charge can be arranged (please email photos/phone to arrange/discuss before posting).
*[ If you choose to wear your jewellery whilst in the shower/bed/swimming/exercising etc. Or treat the item in any way which is not in line with the original purpose for which it was designed, then it is agreed that you become responsible for any damage that may occur. Items can be sent for repairs and are charged at the normal rate, plus any postage charges.]

5. Refunds and exchanges are available for items damaged in transit [except custom orders, which can be exchanged but not returned].
The purchase price will be refunded [less the cost of shipping] via the original method of payment, or by PayPal if this is the only practical way. Both the damaged item AND the original packaging materials, including exterior box and/or envelope must be sent in order for a refund to be processed. Royal mail requires both of these in order to process claims, so refunds cannot be processed until both the item and the packaging has been received. Please also note that PayPal may take up to 30 days to process returns.
Payment
All items must be paid in full before items are posted. (Including custom orders)

Thank you.

Items which are ready to ship can be cancelled for a full refund, if the item has not been marked as despatched. If the item has been despatched and the buyer would like to cancel, then the item must be sent back, unworn and in its original condition using the same postage method it was originally sent with to ensure a refund of the items cost (less postage).

Items which are made to order can be cancelled (if not despatched) and 50% of the item's cost will be refunded. As work will have commenced on your custom item.

Thank you for your understanding
Shipping
If the item you're interested in is in stock I can despatch within 2 working days. (Do contact me for urgent orders and I can normally help you out if you need it fast 😊).

If the item is custom made (such as rings etc) I will advise you individually, but there can be a two week wait during busy periods. (depending on how many commissions I'm currently making and whether I have the gemstones etc in stock). Please do feel free to ask me though, as making commissions is my favourite thing 😁. (A rush rate on commissions means I can bump your order up the queue and move other commissions aside for you to fit with your deadlines. Please note, this is not always possible as I'm a one woman show)

Each piece is packaged beautifully in a box, wrapped in white tissue and is posted special delivery.

If you would like an 'Eco' option, to save on postage or because you don't need the item in a gift box. (Note this is only available on items with a value of up to £25). Please contact me for this Eco option. (Jewellery will be wrapped in acid free tissue and bubble wrapped).

International orders:

All international items are shipped tracked and signed for. It normally takes 5-7 days once I have marked your item as despatched. (This does depend on your country and I'll advise you individually on your order)

Please also note that the buyer is responsible for any customs charges, if any occur. Also I cannot be held responsible for any delays at customs.
