About grannydiane
Retired registered nurse enjoying my other great passion
Welcome to Granny Diane's Kreations….my special area of my home where I can relax and reminisce of days gone by while my ideas are magically created into unique children’s clothing and accessories for the important little people in your life. My fondest childhood memories are of me sitting and watching my mom create beautiful clothing for my cousin and I on her Singer sewing machine. When my children were born, I dreamed of seeing them walking around in such original creations. Thus began my journey into the wonderful world of fabric and creativity.
Mom and I spent many hours together creating original articles of clothing for my husband and children. My husband and two (2) oldest sons sported their 3 piece suits to church on Sundays. Their cowboy outfits looked great at the local horse shows. My daughter wore her beautiful pageant dresses to compete in various local pageants. The more I learned, the more I craved bigger and better. The children eventually became grandchildren and the fun intensified.
When my mom passed away in 2006, I knew I needed something that would help me to carry on in this world. I purchased an embroidery machine and my world suddenly took on new meaning. Each design I watched become a reality was another way I felt I was still connected on some level to the woman who had given me such a passion. Soon, the pile of completed items became too much as my grandchildren had now outgrown homemade embroidered clothes. I had to come up with a plan before the piles of completed items made me look like I lived in a hoarder's house. Thus began the life of local craft shows.
The more I created, the more I wanted to sew and embroider. I had been on Etsy as a buyer for years and decided it was time to open my own shop. And my new awesome adventure began. I love sewing handmade items and embellishing them with applique, embroidery or rhinestuds. I spend extra time making sure that the items I ship to customers are of the high quality I would expect if I were spending my hard-earned money purchasing for myself. The Items purchased from my shop are created with durability in mind so that your money will be well spent on clothing that can be passed down after your special little one has outgrown it.
My husband and I are now retired. My home-based shop gives both of us something extra to focus on. He runs all of my errands and truly enjoys his visits to the fabric store, where he has become proficient in obtaining my desired supplies. I am able to daily enter my happy zone and watch the wonders of my sewing and/or embroidery machine as magic is performed. The extra income affords us the opportunity to do some of the things we have always wanted to do but had other responsibilities. My greatest dream is now a reality THANKS TO YOU..…my awesome Etsy customer.
