About

A quilter sharing her creative ideas with the world....

Hi there! You’re probably wondering who I am and what these patterns are all about. Well, let me fill you in.

My name is Teresa and I have been quilting and designing my own projects for over 20 years now. I LOVE working with fabric and coming up with new ideas, and I love to share those ideas with others! I also love to teach in a down-to-earth manner that makes sewing easier and more enjoyable. So I’ve combined those “loves” with my years of sewing experience to write patterns that offer simplified, easy-to-follow instructions for creating unique, eye-catching projects. I’m on a mission to provide exceptional patterns that give you fantastic results!

What’s so special about these patterns?

We’ve all experienced it. We walk into a quilt shop and see a beautiful display sample of a quilt, bag, or other project and we fall in love with it. So we buy the pattern and drop a wad of cash for the supplies as well. We get home and start working on the project, only to run into problems with a pattern that has vague or confusing directions, assumptions and missing information, and poor or no pictures and diagrams to help us out. We try to make it work the best we can, but the frustration mounts and we finally give up in disgust. Well, when I decided to start writing patterns, I made it a priority to make patterns that solved these problems and put the enjoyment back into making a creative project. I give thorough directions in simplified terms. I add special tips to overcome common obstacles. I include lots of high quality step-by-step color photos and diagrams. I have my (non-sewing) husband proofread my patterns...if he can understand them, I feel confident that you will not have a problem with them. I even include my email address so you can contact me if you get stuck. I’ve thoughtfully combined all of these special features to create high quality patterns that make it easy for you to be a creative success. My patterns are so user-friendly that you will feel like you have a sewing friend at your side!

My sewing/quilting background...

My grandma introduced me to quilting in a roundabout way. When I was a kid, she asked me what my favorite colors were and proceeded to make me a quilt with those colors. We lived far apart (and there were no cell phones back then, so no texting pictures!) so I had no idea how it looked until she mailed the completed quilt to me. It was a simple scrappy quilt made with 3" blocks, but I thought it was the most beautiful thing on the planet.

Fast forward to my adult years. I still had the quilt, but had never attempted to make one myself. The only sewing I had done through the years was a home ec class in junior high ( I made a basic denim tote bag and a poodle skirt that didn't fit when it was done). I was now a wife and mother of two boys, and one of the boys in particular took quite a liking to my quilt. Whenever we would hang out on the couch to watch a movie, he would go get that quilt and wrap up in it. Unfortunately, some of the fabrics in the quilt were not very sturdy and I was afraid my quilt would not survive the rough handling of boys (my husband had already had the quilt repaired once from the wear and tear of MY growing up years).

So in an effort to preserve my beloved quilt, I decided I would make quilts for my boys. I had no training, no instruction, and very little idea of what I was doing, but how hard could it be to make a quilt? Right? LOLOLOLOLOLOL....... Well, I managed to pull it off (with much pain and agony) and the boys had their quilts.

Then I began to read quilting books and take a few classes, and I was hooked! I made quilts for family and friends, joined a quilt guild, went to quilt shows, etc., etc. I learned more and more, and the more I learned, the more creative and adventurous I got with my quilting.

I was always creating my own designs for my quilts, but the idea of actually publishing and selling my ideas didn't cross my mind until I got involved in collecting row by row patterns and fabric license plates. I had so many that I had to come up with an easier way to use them up, and my quilting friends were voicing the same frustration. So I started creating projects and showing them to my friends. They were impressed with my ideas and encouraged me to write these things down, and that gave me enough courage to go ahead and write a couple of patterns. Then I got really brave and shared them in some row by row swap groups on Facebook, and I got a really good response from them too.

Once I started writing patterns, I couldn't stop! I've gone beyond row by row projects now to include other quilting and sewing patterns, with lots more patterns to come. I have found a great outlet for my creativity and my only problem is trying to keep up with the flood of ideas!

So here I am, sharing my row by row ideas and other projects that I’ve designed. I hope you enjoy my patterns and get lots of sewing fun out of them.
