About

Remembering What Counts

Realtor by day, eclectic crafter by night! I was blessed with a mother who made her own clothes and a cheap father, so we learned to make do with what we had before upcycling was cool and hip.

My awesome mom taught me to sew by hand when I was in second grade. After being addicted to my fashion plates, I think she wanted to help me make doll clothes and turn those ideas in my mind to life. She always encouraged our creative side while growing up, and I am ever thankful for it.

I was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, APL, in 2013. I had over 50 chemo treatments in a 12 week period. I was sitting at the "chemo bar" every Monday thru Friday, just knitting and crocheting away. I was sick or sleeping all other times, so it essentially was my only social and creative outlet during chemo. I have made many friends, also battling cancer, and I've seen a few of them pass with great sadness. I feel lucky: I've been in remission now since October 2013. I am still being treated for my leukemia for the next year with chemotherapy pills, and there have been a few bumps in the road, but remission is a great word to say and experience!

I almost died last year, my cancer came suddenly and I spent a lot of time living in the hospital. Taking residency at a hospital, turning a room into an apartment can make you think about the important things in life. I realized I have a lot more living to do here on Earth, and I'm here to help others. My goals are simple: to get better and find ways to help others, spend time and create memories with those that surround and love me, and live every day as though it could be my last. No regrets and no crying over spilled milk!

Take care in knowing my products are handmade from me, in a smoke free, dog friendly home. My sidekick, Frank, is a puggle that likes to sit next to me when I work. He even comes to work when I am out being a realtor! He likes to sit in the car, go for rides, and the occasional "lunch" at the drive-thru!

I try to buy supplies and yarn made in the USA. I want to support local as much as I can.
In my spare time, I like to bake, read, write, listen to all music, and watch my favorite shows.

Ah what I looked like before cancer! All the hair! I'm so jealous of myself! Experienced go-getter and crafter since 2nd grade. I am the type of person to go to the mall not to shop but to get ideas.
