Announcement
Shine a little light on your year with one of my glorious, nature based, informative calendars. Each painting is my own watercoloring and I collaborated with native bee experts, entomologists, biologists, and herbalists to bring to light fun facts, history, and easy tips on tending for healthy ecology. Hear me speak about the three calendar series on YouTube!

5 out of 5 starsI just love the design, and the fit of the hat is perfect. You can tell right away that the artist puts her heart and soul into each piece. The hat was exactly what was shown in the pictures on the etsy site and the quality is awesome. I will be wearing this hat for years to come.

About GreenBlossomPainting
-
Each image starts with selecting seasonally appropriate plants. Here in New England, January's focus is house plants.
-
February is the month for getting seeds ready to plant. I envision the layout and make a pencil sketch before painting.
-
I'm right handed so I generally paint the left side of the page first. Thus, I don't smudge any paint under my hand.
-
Once the painting is done, it's time to add the common and scientific names, plus where each plant is native.
-
Enjoying a sunny morning in my creative zone.
I have enjoyed watercoloring and collaborating with native bee experts and biologists to bring ecology into the light as fun and a very real way we can each engage to help the planet.

After I paint each image, scan them, merge them into the calendar base which I designed, then a local print shop prints them for me on their oversize printer. It frequently takes several printings to get the color match of my original watercolors and I'm grateful for their shared dedication.
