18 inch Doll Clothing sold to support area charities

Independence, Iowa | 854 Sales

Announcement    At GreenGranny2014 I proudly make most of my 18 inch doll clothing from repurposed and upcycled adult clothing items as well as a few children's items and other reused products like cereal boxes and purses which get transformed into shoe parts. My mom started this hobby/business in 2014 and had acquired quite a stash of fabrics and clothing items from yard sales, outgrown clothing and Goodwill. Now, 2 years after she lost her battle with cancer, I am still flush with fabrics and supplies. Early this year I was ready to give several bolts of flannel and cotton plaid fabric back to Goodwill - And then the world as we knew it changed.

Even before Etsy called on sellers to create and sell face masks, my husband asked me to make him a mask for his job servicing vending machines at area businesses. I thought the flannel would work well, and have since used all of 2 bolts of flannel and remnants of other fabrics and made over 300 masks.

Wanting to make the masks available at an affordable cost and still be able to purchase elastic, thread and cover the wear and tear on my sewing machine, I decided to sell them for $3.50. After covering expenses, I was able to donate $350 each to the American Red Cross and Catholic Charities toward their Corona Virus aid from March proceeds. From April proceeds I was able to donate $700 to our local food pantry as they have experienced an increased need with so many out of work and school. From May proceeds I purchased some additional fabric (masks from these fabrics will sell for $5.00) and was able to donate $500 toward the Adrian M Brooks Foundation in Evansville, Indiana. This organization serves underprivileged families in multiple ways including community gardens, academic scholarships and affordable housing. All of these things more important than ever in our current political and pandemic culture.

All of the doll clothing and accessories I sell are made by me from my home. Items are packaged from my home and sent via USPS directly to you. As such, you can avoid the crowds at the mall, support an Iowa hobbyist, and help me pay it forward with June sales.

Be sure to shop our holidays and celebrations tab for seasonal items throughout the year. Current selections include USA items for the 4th and for USA Strong support.

I hope you have enjoyed the smiles on those who received our doll clothing items, the safety you are providing others when wearing masks, and can imagine the smiles on those who have been blessed by the giving your purchase has paid forward. If you or your family or friends are in the market for additional doll clothing, shoes, or accessories, or washable cloth face masks, please come back to GreenGranny 2014 and/or recommend our store to others.

Again, I thank you for helping me to contribute back to my local community and the global community.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

We will gladly customize your order to the best of our ability.

IE: we make "School Hoodies" and cheer outfits with logos for most any school, team or other group, so long as we are able to acquire the color and logo necessary to complete the project. There is an up-charge for special orders so that our seamstress can stop what she is doing and work solely on your project, and so that our graphic designer can create or re-create a logo to match your needs.

Please feel free to contact us via the "ask a question" button on each listing.

Custom orders may take up to a week once the order is processed.

Thank you for considering Green Granny!

Sizing details

Our outfits fit most all 18" dolls such as the American Girl Doll, Boy Doll, Madam Alexander, My Life, Our Generation, Journey Girls, My Pal, etc.

We are not able to recreate the patterns we use to make these outfits for a different size doll, but some clothing will work on other dolls and even bears. Please contact us about anything specific and we can tell you measurements.

Care instructions

Our doll clothing items are made to last with the understanding that they will be played with and occasionally need to be washed too.

Most of our doll clothing was washed, dried and ironed prior to being listed online. When washing your doll clothing, be sure to close all Velcro seems securely, then wash in a gentler cycle with cool or cold water. Use spot and stain removers as needed, but most items shouldn't be bleached.

Use gentle care, but be confident that your new doll clothing is made to withstand use by children and the normal cleaning methods necessary to care for clothing with such use.

Gift wrapping and packaging

If you are buying an item as a gift, and wish to save the cost and hassle of shipping twice, we are willing to gift wrap your purchase and send it directly to the intended recipient.

Simply notify us of this desire prior to completing your purchase and we will add a $5.00 charge for gift wrapping. We will wrap your gift with special care in age and gender appropriate paper and then send the item directly to its new home!

Working With NonProfits

As a charity based business, we gladly work with several non-profit organizations to help them raise money. Especially during silent auctions and other such fundraisers where a donation of doll clothing could help the charity move forward with a specific goal.

Please contact us directly via the "contact" link under the shop owners' image to request our assistance, and we will evaluate each individual request and respond as quickly as possible.
