    About

    The Rhythm of Knitting

I am Laurie Craft, and I design and hand-knit everything in Greenleaf Knitting. I started knitting after receiving a pair of knitting needles and a very badly-written "how to knit" book from my college roommate who gave up on trying to learn how to knit. Ten years later, here I am with a studio full of wool, knitting needles, and an insatiable need to create natural, warm, woolen treasures.

I like to knit a variety of products, and I always have at least three projects going at a time. The process of knitting is therapeutic for me - the rhythm of my needles grounds me on this earth, stimulates my senses with woolly goodness, and helps my mind relax. The fact that a beautiful product often comes out of that process is just icing on the cake.

My favorite thing is to let nature inspire and house me while I'm working on a project. There is nothing like setting the pace of my knitting needles to the rhythm of ocean waves, a chorus of birds, or a cathedral of trees dancing in the wind. I'm blessed to have found this craft and to be able to share it with you.

I hope you will enjoy what you find here. Everything in my shop is knit with 100% natural fibers (mostly wool and alpaca) to be kind to our environment and provide you with a high-quality product. Feel free to convo me if you have any questions. Thanks for stopping by!
