About

An illustrator.

Kirsty is an illustrator who having exhibited internationally works mainly within the realm of short stories both for print and online publications. With growing experience in all aspects of artwork, her passion is for imagery that accompanies literature based in the surreal, gothic and fairy tales.
With the advantage of an illustrative mind-set, Kirsty is motivated by ephemeral visual misunderstanding, transient half-light, ocular strangeness, nightmares, dreams and fleeting glimpses of unreality.
Favouring pencil and ink, often mixing with photography and print, Greenwood likes to work intricately to produce detailed illustrations filled with narrative, allure and creatures from around the allegorical world.
Kirsty lives in her native North Yorkshire and is heavily influenced by the rural Dales’ landscape she grew up in and literature, music and Art of all kinds.

Shop policies

Last updated on April 10, 2015
Kirsty Greenwood Art consists of limited ranges and small runs of illustrative art, garments and accessories, crafted using vintage materials and patterns adapted for the contemporary market of discerning customers who value a true sense of style.
Most of the fabrics I use are vintage, or up-cycled and because of this, there may be inconsistencies in the colour, or small marks and spots, in which case I incorporate further embellishments to camouflage these and see them as part of their personal history, to be celebrated like a magic charm.

Please remember that vintage fabrics and clothing are not new, and will usually have some signs of wear and a patina of age that I hope vintage aficionados will appreciate as part of the charm of the peice.
