Announcement   ORIGINAL DESIGNS. Every afghan is ONE OF A KIND. When the Etsy listing says "only one available," that means I only made one like that and probably won't ever make another one.
These are heirloom-quality afghans, perfect for gifts to mark very special occasions.
It takes me most of a month to make one afghan, so I'm not doing it to get rich. For me it's all about color and design. I love to work out new designs, and really don't want to make the same thing twice.
My designs evolve as I make more and more afghans, and now I’m using more multi-colored yarns, sometimes with two or three together in a hybrid square. I'm also making wider borders, usually with several lines of accent colors.
I use Red Heart acrylic yarn, which is sturdy and washable, and make three basic sizes -- lap size, nap size, and snuggle size. Everything listed in the shop is finished and ready to ship. I recommend shipping by Priority Mail, which will reach just about anyplace in the lower 48 in 2 or 3 days. My home is smoke-free and pet-less.
If you have any questions or comments, please send me a message.

I live in the UK and bought this for my daughter's wedding anniversary and she absolutely loves it. The colours are very attractive and my daughter said the quality of the workmanship is first rate. Rosemary, who made it, was very good at contacting with updates on the shipping process. I was a bit sad that my daughter had to pay import taxes of approximately 45 dollars before the shippers would deliver it - especially since it was a gift. However, I reimbursed her and I suppose we have to accept that if we buy items from abroad there may be additional fees to pay. It is a delightful item and has given my daughter a great deal of pleasure.

This made a wonderful Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. It is beautiful, warm, and well made. It was an easy, pleasant transaction.

About

Retired graphic designer runs wild with crochet hook

I learned to crochet the basic granny square and began to make occasional afghans quite a long time ago. My vision of a perfect life in retirement began with yarn, yarn, all shades of yarn, and then got around to having the time to create the designs that were always whirling around in my head.

So -- I've got the time, I've got the Etsy shop, and I'm actually a professional designer now, since I sold a design to Herrschner's Yarns. It's the Jewel Quilt afghan on the October page of their 2013 Treasury calendar. This has possibilities. I can work with this.
