What a surprise, not only is Chad Cavanaugh a fantastic comic artist and writer, he's also a talented musician! It's a rather short album but the songs are catchy, creative, and flat out fun. I found myself listening to it repeatedly as I worked on projects of my own. It's charming and definitely a memorable purchase!

I focused my review on the first issue on my personal feelings towards the series and voiced my praises. But here, I'll go into the specifics! Where do I start? This second installment in "Boxcar Justice" left me amazed. The art is amongst Mr. Cavanaugh's cleanest and most inspiring from an illustrated's perspective. I found myself stuck on several pages just analyzing the work, admiring everything that has gone into it. The writing is spectacular. The dialogue and narration seem natural and real, working with a plot that grabbed my attention from the first page. All together it's a gritty, fearless adventure with plenty of unpredictable surprises for fans of Grunt 1B Comics! For those who don't read it, I really have to wonder how you sleep at night not knowing how awesome the series is turning out to be!

For those who have read Chad Cavanaugh's previous books, The Map, Bedlam in Troubletown, or my personal favorite Radgod, it's pretty obvious that the operator of Grunt1B has a knack for action and humor. However, it's my opinion that his greatest talent is to breathe new life and originality into genres from long before his time. I believe this talent shows best in "Boxcar Justice." When I ordered the book I expected a good read, as the author always delivers. Even so, this latest gift to the BLAMily stands out among a list of excellent books. This issue is a solid introduction to a series that has a clear and bright future. One I'll definitely be following as or moves forward. Be it for the BLAMily or for newcomers interested in Chad's work, I strongly recommend this book! Look for my review if the second issue for more!

This was a fun story! The art and writing styles are a nice change of pace in comparison with the author's other publications. It takes a slightly different approach yet maintains the charm long established by Mr. Cavanaugh! The book finds a nice voice of it's own, feeling like a nice mix of Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare with a touch of Steampunk and a bit of Clint Eastwood. Definitely recommend this one for the whole BLAMily!

Of the books Chad Cavanaugh has put out, it has been made clear that this project is his most personal. Created in honor of his friend, Jeff Nilson, who passed away in 2015, Radgod is arguably Mr. Cavanaugh's masterpiece. Upon completing the book, it instantly became my personal favorite of his works. It's filled with spectacular artwork, grand action, and behind it all it has a lot of heart. This viking tale evokes an epic tone in a way not unlike Beowulf, and I highly recommend you give this book filled with loveable characters and creative designs a look. If you enjoy mythological characters as ancient as Hercules and as modern as Kratos, Radgod is certain to be added to your list of favorites.

What can be said of this book? It's the first from author and illustrator Chad Cavanaugh and arguably one of the finest debuts in the world of comics. The artwork is stunning, unique, and flat out cool! The plot is surprisingly unique among the long list of Post-apocalyptic tales, and The Map pulls it off beautifully. The main character, Bryan Woodworth, is a fun one to follow (and oddly relatable, I might add.) Mr. Cavanaugh put a lot of work into The Map and it shows, and I can promise you that it's not something you'll want to miss out on.

This is an excellent book with awesome artwork. The story takes hold of you from page one and it's a fun homage to action movies of all sorts. The book is full of surprises and neat nods to the readers, and is certainly worth your time and money, so be sure to pick it up (along with every other Chad Cavanaugh book.)

I spent a whole day reading "Sneaking into Comics" and I have to thank the author for all the work he put in! It contains a lot of good information I was actually hoping to get out of it, and a lot more too that I wasn't quite expecting (answering questions I didn't even know to ask). Not only does the book help you along the way of conception, writing and illustration, but it goes on to describe the process of printing and distributing the books. The book also provides great tips on selling the book. Not just putting it up for sale but actually being the salesperson a comic maker was born to be! I've read a lot of books on comic creation (which always lose me half way through) but none of them have the fantastic energy this one does. Buy it, read it, stop to admire it, then make your own book!
