I've been adding pieces to my kitchen from Guillermo for a while now through his Etsy shop and was really excited to see not only a mug, but one that is a larger size -- I could hardly wait to use it and it's quickly become one of my new favorites! Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship in a useful, functional piece...so pleased!

After many years of wanting to get a garlic jar, I found one that seems perfect. I love the design, the size and all of the holes and how they are arranged. And I love the color, earthy and reminds me the garlic bulb come out of the ground. This garlic jar is very well made out of stoneware. Packed very well and shipped very quickly.

Pots made for preparing & sharing food and for daily rituals
I have been making wheel thrown stoneware pots since 1980. I moved to Shafer, Minnesota from Venezuela in 2005 to the vibrant community of potters in the St. Croix River Valley. I’m inspired by the beauty of the handwork of native Venezuelan Indians and the way their hand work, pots, baskets and textiles, create community, blending naturally into the context of daily life. I love the beauty that can be found in simple pots made for preparing and sharing food and other rituals.
I want to share my work with people who will find joy in using it. I sell my pots at home in the studio, in galleries, and at Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis and through pottery sale events like The Annual St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour (www.minnesotapotters).
This year 2020 I will be posting a large selection of pots online at the start of the Tour, which has had to move online because of the social distancing guidelines in Minnesota. On May 8, at 10 AM please enjoy the new selection!
Venezuelan born Guillermo Cuellar works in MN. His glazed stoneware is intended for everyday use. Studio experiences with friend Warren MacKenzie inform his aesthetics and studio practice. Guillermo is a host on the St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour.
