Mathematical bead weaving, doodles, paintings, tutorials

I am a maker. I started weaving beads in 2004 while working as a university mathematics professor, teaching people to be math teachers. I was a quilter for the ten years just before I started weaving seed beads. Much of my art is inspired by mathematics. I have a love of math, making things with my hands, and playing with color.

I use what I learned as a mathematician and quilter to design beaded beads and bead woven jewelry, and I write extensively about my creations. I also use wool and silk felt to make sculptures and wearable art. As a life-long learner of all needle crafts, I also sew clothing, costumes, and hats.

My work has been called a rare combination of meticulous and whimsical. I like this description because I pay close attention to details, and I make the artwork I sell to be as perfect as I can ...and I love whimsy, costume, and color.
