Karen's Kreations - Karen Potter
When I discovered reborn dolls on eBay one day back in 2002, I was absolutely mesmerized. I mean, these dolls look like REAL BABIES! I bought one, got it home, and was sooooooo disappointed. The doll looked nothing like the beautiful baby I'd seen in the auction pictures. I knew I could do a better job. The question was HOW? I set out to discover all I could about the art of making reborn dolls. I ordered a doll kit and went to work and never looked back. I still love "kreating" these beautiful babies as much now as I did when I first started.
The ultimate compliment to me is "Your baby looks so real, it's creepy" Why, thank you very much! Many, many hours go into each baby. I use nothing but the finest materials available because I want every one of my "kreations" to be loved and treasured for many years to come. It takes me about 2 weeks to complete a doll. I love seeing a blank doll kit come to "life" as I paint layer upon layer to achieve realistic skin tones. No details are overlooked on my babies. They are filled with love and care.
I was honored when asked to do an article on reborning in Janaury of 2005 for Doll Crafter Magazine. I made a couple of babies named Will and Felicia, a tribute to my younger brother and sister, neither of whom collect dolls, but both were quite pleased when I presented them with their babies!
Making dolls has given me the chance to make so many friends around the world. I made a set of vinyl raggedy dolls for a doll forum member and ended up with over 100 orders. I wish now I'd kept a set for myself!
I am constantly searching for new methods of reborning, always trying to up my game and make the most real-looking babies possible. My main objective is to bring my customers quality reborns at sensible prices.
Due to time constraints, I am no longer accepting custom orders. I joined Etsy several years ago, but haven't been real active. However, I will try to have babies on Etsy as often as possible. I have adopted my babies out all over the world and couldn't be prouder!

I'm on Facebook, too:
I've been making dolls since the 1980's -- starting with the soft-sculpture ones that were so popular back then! I moved on to cloth teddy bears and then to reborn dolls in 2002.
