About

Gypsy Palace is my home, my workplace, my playground.

Gypsy Palace was born of the desire to connect admirers of handcrafted artisan treasures with the often-eclectic, submerged and elusive souls who create them. The brick-and-mortar shop operated for about a year in Seattle before the building was torn down to make way for more swanky, gentrified condos (because we all know the world needs more of those). During the year the shop was open, local designers and global artisans had an outpost for their wares, alongside vintage designer accessories and other quirky bits. After the shop closed, I decided to open up online so I could spend more time creating my own jewelry and clothing, and less time managing a retail store. Eventually, Gypsy Palace will return to being a showcase for other artisans and designers from around the world. For now, it is the only place online to find my creations. I work at home, alongside my two creative children, who may also contribute to the shop inventory occasionally.

In August of 2014, I moved out to my five-acre property in Snohomish, Washington, leaving behind the neat and tidy suburbs of Seattle's east side. This piece of land will enable me to work on much larger things like furniture, chandeliers and large paintings, as well as create the homestead of my dreams. We have a large organic vegetable garden, fruit trees and berries, and will soon have chickens and goats. The land itself is a work of art, and will someday become a place where people can visit and do workshops, take classes in a variety of subjects, and unplug, breathe, listen to the birds. We have a Facebook page for this project here: https://www.facebook.com/DreamseedCollective and are actively seeking funding for a yurt to use as a yoga studio and classroom, so if you know any patrons of the arts who are looking for an organization to facilitate, please send them to our page. A portion of all sales from this Etsy shop has been funding Dreamseed since 2013, so your purchases are deeply appreciated.

  • Madame Seven

    Owner, Designer, Curator

I have been the curator, proprietress & lead designer of the Gypsy Palace since 2005 when it was a Seattle brick & mortar local/global artisan boutique. I am currently the sole designer of Gypsy Palace wares, but intend to include more artisans soon.

  • Willow

    Assistant, Creator

Willow is the daughter of Madame Seven. She helps her mom create elements of Gypsy Palace designs such as beads, wire pieces and drawings. Willow is also a portrait artist and will soon be offering her paintings for sale here.

  • Rowan

    Assistant, Designer

Sasha Rowan is my son and helps by advising me on the mens jewelry line I am developing this year. He is learning basic jewelry making skills so he can work on his own line of jewelry. Sasha has great ideas and often inspires me to think differently about my design process. He also motivates me to keep my workshop neater so there is room for him to work!
