Announcement   Blacksmithing in Astoria Oregon. Helping you find a perfect gift of hand forged iron that reflects your simple, handcrafted life. For your Home, Iron Anniversary, or Wedding

Follow us on instagram @the_shops_at_HammeredForge. Take a peek inside Dewey's forge on instagram @Hammeredforge, or on our blog at Hammeredforge.com for a look behind the scenes at our shop and process.

Each item is hand forged by Dewey here in his workshop and as such will be one of a kind and possess a hand made character that will set it aside from factory made items. We love the color and look of metal and because of that do not paint our pieces, but instead give them a traditional coating of wax or oil.

About

Just had to forge

I was a farrier most of my adult life. Part of the job of shoeing horses is working with a forge and anvil to build custom shoes for horses. I've spent a lot of time forging, and occasionally making something out of an old horseshoe for a customer such as hoofpicks, book ends ,wine racks, etc. Blacksmithing was a natural transition for me and now something I am lucky enough to get to do full time. Seeing a gas forge for the first time, I was hooked for life...
