Announcement   Welcome to Hampton Artistic Yarns! I offer unique handspun yarns, professionally hand dyed spinning fibers, Fair Trade recycled sari silks, and embellishments for the fiber artist.

I'm a yarnie on Ravelry, so you can upload your stashed HAY fibers and/or yarns into the Ravelry database. Visit http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/brands/hampton-artistic-yarns to see my base yarns and feel free to use the fiber/yarn pictures from the shop for your Ravelry stash purposes. You can also join the HAY Group on Ravelry to chat about your fiber adventures! Join here ---> http://www.ravelry.com/groups/hay-club

NOTES:
1) Due to the nature of handspun yarn, don't forget to swatch! Each skein of handspun has it's own personality.
2) I make every effort to accurately represent the colors of my products, but item colors shown may differ slightly from the actual item depending on your computer monitor settings.
3) I work in a smoke-free studio and use only professional washfast dyes.
4) If you'd like a custom dye job or spinning service, send me a convo. I love to play!

Updates

It's a cloudy day on Eastern LI, so it's the perfect day for an outdoor photo shoot! I'm currently snapping beauty shots and sticking these art batts in the shop. They include lots of hand dyed fibers lovingly grown right here in the US. Check 'em out!

About

In love with all things fiber

My love of the fiber arts started at a young age. My Czech grandma taught me how to sew, embroider, knit, crochet, and tat starting around the age of seven years old. I loved crafting things with Grandma until I hit my teen years, at which time the only crafty thing about me was my ability to sneak cigarettes from my grandfather's coat pocket when he wasn't looking, lol. It wasn't until I became pregnant with my first child that I started knitting again (and quit smoking - yay!) A few years later, I learned how to spin my own yarn and started exploring different dyeing techniques. By that time I was completely hooked on fiber!

Hampton Artistic Yarns opened in 2008 and I've been having the best time making and sharing my creations. You can find H.A.Y. products at local yarn shops, trunk shows, Northeastern Fiber Festivals, and here on Etsy. Offerings include handspun yarn, hand dyed sock yarn and spinning fibers, Fair Trade imported sari silks, imported silk cocoons, and embellishments/notions for the fiber artist.

H.A.Y. was born out of my love for all things fiber. I love to look at it, touch it, and manipualte it into new forms. I love to breathe in the essence of the animal from which it came. I love to cuddle it. Mmmmm..........

I use only professional acid dyes on my products to ensure wash-fastness and light-fastness. My studio is smoke-free and pug-friendly (although they tend to just sleep on the couch all day - they're too lazy to play with the fiber!). ;)
