About

Dreaming under patchwork

My love of quilts comes from sleeping under beauties made by women in my family decades before I was born. The quilt in the banner image was made by my great-grandmother in Texas out of men's shirts and flour sacks. I aspire to make quilts that are loved as long as that one.

I live in Japan, and the name of the shop refers to over-the-top fireworks displays that communities host all over the country in the summertime. Families and friends gather on blankets with bentos and festival foods while they wait for the show.

Thanks for stopping by.
