In March of 2015, I was introduced to the world of paper crafting. I was instantly hooked. It all started when I was helping my then 7 year old son make a Birthday card for my Mom. I all but shoved him out of the way and totally took over. It was that bad. I still have to refrain from getting up in the middle of the night and going into my craft room. I'm so obsessed, that I will sometimes STILL be up crafting when the sun starts rising. That's when I knew I had it bad. I was hooked! I was obsessed!! I'm totally and utterly addicted to this wonderful little hobby of mine and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've had my share of life challenges and this is the first and only past time I've come across that completely relaxes me. It gives me such joy to make a card for someone else. The thought of putting a smile on a loved ones face is enough to put a smile on mine. It's funny because all my life I've read that Libra's are supposed to be creative and artistic but I've never felt creative or artistic. Ever. Until now. It was almost as if there were a fire being lit inside of me the moment I discovered card making. It just kept building and building and builds to this day!! I can't even explain how happy it makes me, to FINALLY feel creative, artistic. Then I started realizing that I could SELL these cards I was making. I could help someone else put that smile on THEIR loved ones face. And that made me even happier. Happy Ink Designs was born. Okay, on to the card making part... Each of my cards are individually handcrafted. And when I say handcrafted or handmade, I mean everything is done by hand. I color each card with my copic markers. Sometimes I watercolor my backgrounds, sometimes I stamp them, sometimes I use distress inks. However I do it, it's all done with my own two hands. There's nothing digital about my cards. Most cards are multi layered with some type of dimension to them. I also enjoy making shaker cards because you can never have too many sequins!! All of my card bases are made with Neenah Solar White 110 lb. cardstock. All card fronts are the same only 80 lb. instead of 110 lb. I use strictly copic markers for coloring but I also use several other types of mediums as well . I love, love, LOVE Simon Says Stamp, it's where I get most of my supplies but I also love Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, My Favorite Things and Avery Elle as well.
