Coming full circle...

Years ago, before Illustrator and graphic tablets, I was a kid who loved to draw. You know, pencil and paper, the old school way. I doodled in every class, including band! Think awesome sheet music margins. I illustrated coloring books for my friends, notably a Picke Bicke book. I even had one of my drawings published as the cover art for my sixth grade year book. I swear my mom still has that thing stashed away somewhere in her house.

As time passed, my passion for drawing expanded to include all avenues of creating. Mixed media, origami, sewing, you name it. But at some point in my high school career, my uncle introduced me to the world of Photoshop and I was hooked. I taught myself, slowly, how to make my own so-so graphics. This led to, long story short, way better graphics, animated GIFs, coding in HTML, and the creation of my own website (remember GeoCities?!) where I proudly showcased my growing graphic design skills.

People would always ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I would always answer an artist! Any kind of artist. But that's not what happened. Life happened and I entered the medical field. While the past many years have brought their share of fulfillment (and frustrations!), the yearning to create has persisted and grown more than anything.

And so Hardt Illustrations was born. Because it's never too late to follow those dreams you had as a child. I chose the name Hardt for a couple reasons. It's a play on the word heart and represents me following my heart as I strive to create artwork that brings smiles to the faces of many. And it's an homage to one of my biggest supporters, my husband, whose last name is Burkhardt.

I also want to thank YOU for taking the time to visit my tiny shop. It's in the beginning stages but I am working diligently to bring you fun new art. Check back often and thank you again! :)

From pencil and paper to stylus and tablet, I started from the bottom, now I'm here. Just kidding. I draw stuff (digitally). I also enjoy travel, food, and Netflix. :)

What is allowed

In order to use my graphics commercially, they must be significantly modified. SIGNIFICANT MODIFICATION means the graphic(s) must be creatively and skillfully incorporated into a unique composition and comprise less than 50% of the new design. This can be done by using my graphic(s) in conjunction with other clipart, illustrations, textures, patterns, typography, etc. to create something new.

My graphics may be used to create finished physical and digital END PRODUCTS for sale. These are products that customers can purchase to immediately enjoy such as a decoupage jewelry box or a printable greeting card. Digital designs must be flattened so that end users cannot extract my graphics from your digital design to use freely.

What is allowed (continued)

As previously mentioned, my graphics MAY NOT be used as is or without significant modification. They MAY NOT be used to create and sell digital design resources such as clipart, digital paper, collage sheets, scrapbooking kits, etc. or physical design resources such as paper, vinyl, fabric, textile, ribbon, etc.

One exception. You may print my graphics as is or without significant modification onto materials such as paper, vinyl, fabric, textile, ribbon, etc. only if you proceed to create a finished HANDMADE end product. Examples: paper mâché decor, party banners, customized tumblers, baby clothes, hair bows, dog collars, door wreaths, etc. These MUST be handmade.
