Announcement
Hats by Elvee offers beautifully crafted, one-of-a-kind handmade beanies, and it's also a pattern store for people who love to make things.
Re reviews: This was a PDF patterns-only shop for a couple of years. But now, hats are back! If you want to read what lots of buyers have to say about my hats, please look at reviews from 2019 and earlier.
Currently, my patterns are for stylish hats to crochet in a variety of weights of yarn, from super fine fingering and sock yarns to super bulky yarn. I also have a small collection of patterns for knit hats, and I'll be adding more. The knitting patterns all use chunky yarn for fun projects that are fast to make. Almost all of my patterns include 4 sizes for adults -- from Small to Extra Large -- for a perfect fit.
All of my hats and handmade wearables are ready-to-ship. I crochet and knit with a diverse mix of yarns -- from luxurious merino and cashmere to fluffy mohair to vegan plant-based to recycled and synthetics. And lots and lots of lovely wool!

Frequently asked questions
Do you accept custom orders for your hats?
Not at this time. All of my hats are ready to ship.
What kind of packaging do you use for your hats?
For the inner layer of packaging, all hats are protected in flap-and-seal clear poly bags that are made with 100% recycled material.
For the outer layer, most hats are shipped in a poly mailer, which is also made with 100% recycled material. I include a packing slip to help "stiffen" the package a bit during shipping.
If hats need extra protection during shipping, I use recycled boxes.
I thought I was buying a hat, but now I realize that the listing is for a PDF pattern to make the hat myself. What should I do?
Please contact me about this. As long as you haven't downloaded the PDF, I will cancel the sale and refund your money.
I bought two copies of the same pattern by accident. (They had different photos in two separate listings.) What should I do?
Please contact me about this. If you only need one copy, I will refund the second purchase.
I sometimes list a crochet or knitting pattern more than once -- with different photos on the listings page -- to show the variations available in the pattern, for instance, both a slouchy hat and a regular beanie.
